Chapter 21 Belamis on board the space battleship

Belamis recovered in a week, with Medora caring for her. The Galaxy Union sent a notice, Belamis was to be on board of a space battleship, as a commander.

Belamis received the notice, and thought to herself, "This is it...."

Dr. Kitty knew from the sources that the battle with the Golinkor force was at the critical stage, and the Galaxy Union would launch a big counter attack.

This day, Belamis was in the hanger, checking her own space fighter. Medora came.

Belamis turned, and looked at her.

Medora said, "You are going to the front line..."

Belamis nodded, and then she turned and held Medora's hand, "I promise... I will come back."

Medora said, "I want to come with you..."

Belamis replied, "I know what you feel.. but the space battleship is not for young people...."

Medora looked at Belamis, who was in plain clothes, replied, "... I know from instinct that this battle...you will be in danger... I want to be at your side.."

Belamis looked at Medora, and she knew what Medora said. The recent spate of attacks intensified everywhere, and even Belamis almost died when she saved Medora.

"It is more important that you stay at a safe place." Belamis said.

Then came the day, Belamis was to meet the commander of the Galaxy Union Space Fleet, Admiral Yautsin.

"Come in..." Admiral Yautsin said, as Belamis was waiting outside his office.

Belamis entered, and at the desk was a man in his sixties, with silver hair and white beard. Belamis saluted.

The man looked at Belamis for a while, then slowly spoke, "Colonel Belamis, you would be the commander of a space battleship."

"Yes, I know." Belamis replied. The old man before her reminded Belamis of her father.

Admiral Yautsin stood up, and walked to a large map depicting the Galaxy and dots on it showing where the Golinkor forces were.

"Actually, you would be on board of my battleship, the Galaxy Warrior, as Captain of the space squadron."

"Galaxy Warrior ?" Belamis replied. Galaxy Warrior was the largest battleship, a space aircraft carrier where the main space fighter squadron would base, and other battleship in the armada supporting it.

"You will also be my second in line, directing the other battleship and space fighters in the battle." Admiral Yautsin replied.

"Sir... this is a great task and a lot of responsibility..." Belamis replied.

"That's why it is you..." Admiral Yautsin said.

"I have gone through your files, alongside with General Kahn...." Yautsin said, "... do you know... your father and I used to fight alongside ?"

"Father ?" Belamis replied.

"Near Gariusu system, was my system Arion, you father Conan lead a force, which joined forces with us in a battle against aggression to both our star systems. We were just young officers then..." Yautsin said, "... I never thought one day I would meet Conan's daughter..."

"I did not recommend you because you are Conan's daughter, but because of the information I found out... you are a talent in military command... and you are also a brave warrior.."

Belamis replied, "I am still young and green compared to a lot of the officers..."

"I trust my hunches... you are a fine commander.." Yautsin replied.

"In 6 days, the fleet would head out to space, and you have to be on board after 4 days...." Yautsin said, and he reached out his hand, "Welcome aboard..." Belamis shook hands with him, and nodded.

"By the way, this belongs to you..." Yautsin handed to Belamis a pod like container.

"This is what's left of Gariusu, the pod which contained all of Gariusu history, culture and knowledge.... all the archive...and the file about you...you are the only citizen of Gariusu we know that is still alive now, and this belongs to you..." Yautsin said.

The pod was inside a metal container, shaped like an oval ball. Belamis looked at it, and the pod's top opened to reveal a small compartment, inside it was a arm bracelet, with a cross star shaped golden badge on it, and a gem in the middle of the star.

"The arm bracelet is yours...." Yautsin said.

Belamis nodded, and said, "Thank you..." Then she left the base and returned to the research facility.

Dr. Kitty, Medora and Assistant Professor Dodge was there, and they looked at the pod which contained all of Gariusu civilization.

Dr. Kitty said, "That was the pod we found and there we accidentally found out about your past..."

Belamis looked at the arm bracelet and said, "This was mine ?"

"Yes.... in the archives, it was wore by Gariusu giantess..." Dr. Kitty replied.

Belamis put her hands on the pod, and touched it... the pod was all that left of her home planet... her beautiful home planet...as well as her memories of her parents, childhood and friends.

Belamis then looked at the arm bracelet, and gazed at it.

Medora looked at the bracelet and said, "Strange...I thought the gem is glowing..."

"What ?" Belamis asked.

Then suddenly the gem on it glowed, and the bracelet opened up, and flew towards Belamis. Belamis was wearing just plain clothes and a sleeveless shirt, and the bracelet landed on her right arm and closed. The bracelet fit on her right arm perfectly.

"What is it ???" Belamis said.

"Another Gariusu giantess thing ?" Assistant Professor Dodge said.

Medora looked at the bracelet and said, "...it... it was for the Gariusu giantess....it seems to have powers..."

Belamis tried to take it off, but couldn't, she looked at it and frowned, "I have to wear this with my fighting suit..."

Medora chuckled.

The day came, and Belamis had to report to duty on the battleship Galaxy Warrior, and she bid goodbye to Dr. Kitty, Assistant Professor Dodge. Belamis in her fighting suit, looked as brave and valor as ever.

"I will return to Earth ..." Belamis said.

"Yes.... Earth is your home now... and you are always welcomed here..."Dodge said.

Dr. Kitty looked at Belamis, as Belamis gazed at her. Dr. Kitty knew in her heart that Belamis treated her as though she was her mother, and Dr. Kitty, in her heart, adopted Belamis like her own daughter. Dr. Kitty placed her hands on Belamis face, and stroked her hair gently. Belamis holding back her tears and nodded.

Then Medora hugged Belamis, Belamis hugged her, and said, "I will return... with the peace of our Galaxy restored..."

Medora nodded.

Then Belamis hopped into her space fighter and started the engine, and flew at Mach 3 in the sky, then flew into space in top speed, to the rendezvous point with the Galaxy Warrior, near the orbit of the Moon.

"The fighter that is approaching, what is your call-sign ?" The radio commander there asked.

"Gariusu..." Belamis replied, "Allow me to dock..."

"You may go ahead...."

Belamis landed her space fighter on Galaxy Warrior at the designated spot for her fighter jet, and she jumped out. In no time she was on the main command room, with Admiral Yautsin on the main commander seat, and Belamis on the front control seat, overseeing the entire control room.

"All systems are ready..." The chief engineer Lester said.

"The flight path is inputted to the navigational systems, and the battleship can launch anytime.." The navigator Greg replied.

Belamis turned to Admiral Yautsin, "We are ready..."

"Galaxy Warrior, launch..." Admiral Yautsin said.

Belamis repeated, "Start the engine, increase thrust to 10 zetawatt, Galaxy Warrior, launch!"

In less than 20 minutes, Galaxy Warrior was on its way to the front line. Alongside with it was the other battleships of the Galaxy Union fleet.

"This is it...." Admiral Yautsin remarked. "We are meeting the Golinkor forces head on...all of you, when you are off duty, tried to rest more... for we will have no time to rest once we reached the frontier..."

Belamis stayed in the main command room. Yautsin looked at her and said, "Go to your room to rest your eyes... we have Lt. Loken here..."

"Loken ?" Belamis remarked. There it was Lt. Loken, smiling back at her.

"Go and get some sleep...tough girl..." Chuckled Loken. Belamis smiled, and nodded.

Belamis headed back to her room, and just stretched herself, then suddenly she heard a small sound.

"What is it...?" Belamis looked under her bed... and there it was Medora!

"Why are you here ????" Belamis exclaimed.

Medora crawled out under the bed, and smiled mischievously, "I wanted to help you...!"

"How ??" Belamis was worried, and she replied, "You can't just sneak in like that!!!"

"Belamis.... you cannot change to the giantess at will... but I can help.." Medora said, and holding the scepter in her hands.

Belamis frowned and signed, "How did you get here ?"

Medora smiled, "I climbed in one of the jet of the officers, and stow away..."

"That's dangerous!"

Medora chuckled again, "It's a cool looking officer called with a beard who took me here to your room..."

"What ?"

Then the door knocks, Belamis asked, "Who is it ?"

"Belamis, did you find your friend ?" Loken came in with a wide smile.

"Gosh..." Belamis frowned.

Medora smiled and said, "Thanks !"

"I am the second line commander...and I cannot allow this to happen..." Belamis said.

"I have to report this to Admiral Yautsin..."

At the Captain's room, Belamis, Loken and Medora stood before Yautsin.

"I am very sorry about this...." Belamis said.

Loken continued, "I am the one to blame....I noticed this girl in my jet before I came ... but I took her in and led her to Belamis..."

Admiral Yautsin looked at the party, expressionless. He stood up from his chair and looked outside the window.

Then he turned, and said, "We'd already passed the orbit of Ceres, and to turn back would waste a lot of time..."

"We cannot just take you back or send you back... you have to come with us." Yautsin continued.

"Colonel Belamis, she is your responsibility... and Loken, both of you should have been disciplined.. but this time I pardon you both..."

Belamis replied, "Thank you, sir."

Loken also replied, "Thank you, sir."

Yautsin turned to Medora, "Little girl, behave yourself here... Belamis will take good care of you"

The three left the room.

Belamis breathed a sign of relief. Loken laughed.

"Hey...." Belamis replied in frustration.

"Okay okay... I shouldn't have take her on board... I am sorry..." Chuckled Loken.

"Come on, Belamis.... you are happy that I am her, aren't you ?" Said Medora.

Belamis just frowned, and replied, "Remember, stay in a safe place and don't wander about in the battleship.... I cannot watch over you all the time."

"Lighten up, Belamis..." Loken said.

Belamis replied, "I know what you are trying to say..... but this battle is big..."

As the party walked to the cafeteria, Belamis said, "There's no guarantee if we can return alive..."

Medora said, "You mean.... you may die..."

Belamis knew Medora was concerned, and said, "I mean... this battle is very tough and dangerous..."

They arrived at the cafeteria, and they ordered food and ate.

"This might be our last time we can sit and eat without interruption..." Loken said.

Belamis replied, "It's time... I have to be back at the command room."

At the command room, Belamis sat at her commander seat, looking at the main window and screen. The crew were busy.

Admiral Yautsin came back from his room, and asked, "Everything's OK?"

Belamis said, "Yes."

"It's time we use warp flight to get to the front line." Yautsin said.

"Greg, what's the time to start the warp sequence ?" Belamis asked.

"With all co-ordinates calculated, and our warp engine ready, we will begin warp flight... in 70 minutes..." Lester replied.

Yautsin remarked, "Good."

Then alarm sounded.

"The sensor detected a large group of objects heading to us..." The console team head Solomon exclaimed.."Golinkor fleet!!!"

Belamis stood up, and commanded, "Scan the enemy and determine their ship rank and number..."


"Three spacecraft carrier.... equivalent to our Galaxy Warrior, twenty star battleships heading our way...and uncountable number enemy fighters..." Solomon replied, "distance to us.... 800 space miles.."

"Belamis, you lead the space squadron from our fleet and stop the enemy fighters.." Yautsin commanded.

"Yes, sir." Belamis saluted, and ran.

The space squadron at all the Galaxy union battleship scramble to action. Belamis leaped to her fighter jet and flew out first, followed by the squadron, a total of 200 fighters, with Loken as Belamis' deputy commander flying side by side with Belamis.

"Fall into formation!" Belamis commanded. The squadron fall into formation, into six groups, and Belamis leading.

"Target our cannons and guns to the enemies!" Belamis commanded, "We are about to engage!"

"Loken, you lead group Alpha, Gamma and Delta to engage the enemy fighters..." Belamis commanded, "I am leading Beta and Zeta to fight distract the enemy warships. Omega group, cover us and guard our fleet!"

The squadron spread and Belamis led her groups and fight the enemy battleships.

The enemy battleships began firing.

"Engage energy shield!" Yautsin commanded. The energy cannons hit the shields, and the Galaxy Union also tried to avoid the attack.

Belamis yelled, "Split into 10 groups, and attack the battleships with our missiles, target their guns!" Then Belamis flew her fighter right in front of her squadron, and began attack.

"Captain Belamis, it's an honor to fight with you!" One pilot said, as he flew by and began attacking the enemy ships.

Belamis launched missiles and energy torpedoes, wrecking the main guns of one battleship.

"Belamis, our targeting system is ready, target the enemy ship so that our system can lock onto them before we fire..." Yautsin commanded.

"Yes sir. All brothers and sisters, engage target system, target the enemy warships, aim at their guns and cannons!" Belamis commanded.

Belamis looked back at where Loken was, and the other groups of the squadron were fighting fiercely with the enemy fighters. Belamis saw that a few of their fighters were hit and exploded.

"Belamis, we lost four comrades... we could still hold on!" Loken replied.

Belamis said, "Alright..." She switched on the main target system, where her fighter would send back signals to Galaxy Warrior and other battleship the target's position for their weapons to lock the target.

"Targets acquired!" The other pilots reported to Belamis.

"Get the hell out and help our comrades back there!" Belamis yelled.

Belamis' figher the Blue Star had the top speed, and with Belamis superior skills in piloting she flew the jet back to fight among the enemy fighters, and she shot down a number of them.

"Great skills!" Loken said.

"Fire the canons!" Yautsin commanded. The main cannons of the fleet fired, hitting the battleships of the Golinkor fleet, including the two spacecraft carriers.

Numerous explosions occurred.

"Good... we wrecked the guns of the enemy warships..." Yautsin thought.

"Look... the two spacecraft carrier..." Greg yelled.

Belamis watched and was shocked. The two big spacecraft carrier had strong energy shields and withstood all of the Galaxy Union's fire.

Then two giant balls of energy fired from the spacecraft carriers and hit one of the Galaxy Union battleship, wrecking its energy shield and destroyed it.

"Good lord!!!" Loken yelled.

"Their energy weapons are strong" Belamis said.

Galaxy Union fleet fired again, their space energy cannons hit the other battleships, this time the enemy battleships raised their energy shield, and the cannons did hardly any damage to them.

"Their fire powers and shield is very strong..." Yautsin said. "Fire our main cannon!"

The Galaxy Union fleet fired again, and only damaged two enemy space battleship.

"Oh no..." Belamis battled the enemy space fighters, shooting them down, but she saw the enemy spacecraft carriers were going to fire again.

A series of gigantic energy balls were fired, hitting another two battleships of Galaxy Union fleet, one was severely damaged, one exploded.

"No!!!!! We are like sitting ducks!!!" Loken yelled. Belamis' squadron of 200 fighters battled hard with the swarm of enemy fighters, with Belamis being the Ace fighter, she shot down over 20 of the enemy fighters, but they were out numbered.

"I.... I must use space sword!" Belamis thought. She opened up the cover of her fighter, and commanded, "Loken! Cover me!"

Belamis stepped outside her jet and drew her sword, and began using her body as the medium to absorb the cosmic energy around her.

"Cover our captain!" Loken screamed.

Belamis jet flew towards the enemy spacecraft carrier in fierce enemy fire.

"Just a bit more..." Belamis thought, "I must deliver the maximum energy ..."

Then a cannon from the enemy fighter fired at Belamis' jet.

"Look out Captain!" One of her squadron pilot steered her jet and shielded Belamis.

"Chief Captain Belamis!" The woman pilot saluted her before her jet exploded.

Belamis felt a heartache - that woman pilot was from Lacets Legion, who was under her command - they were loyal to Belamis.

Belamis felt that her body was aching, and she knew she already accumulated a large reserve of cosmic energy, to be released with her sword.

"Space sword hurricane!" Shouted Belamis as she welded her sword. A large wave of energy, like a tsunami, stormed to Golinkor fleet, spreading out like a gigantic wave.

The spacecraft carrier and the rest of Golinkor fleet froze, then a bright light emerged from the battleships and they all exploded, sending shock waves back.

Belamis and her jet were hit by the shock waves and sent hurtling out.

"Get away!" Loken yelled to the rest of the squadron as they steered their fighters out of the way.

"Braze yourselves!" Yautsin yelled. The shock waves hit Galaxy Union fleet, shaking the remaining battleships, but there were no damage.

"What the hell was that ? " Loken exclaimed.

Belamis gained control of her jet, and she breathed heavily....

"No... my own life energy..." Belamis felt very weak.

Then the swarm of enemy fighters all headed towards Belamis.

"No... they were going to avenge !" Loken screamed. "Let's get our captain back!"

The Galaxy Union squadron raced to shoot the enemy fighters to cover Belamis.

Belamis was in the middle of intense enemy fire, and could barely pilot her own jet to dodge the shoot out from the enemy fighters.

Yautsin commanded, "Target our space guns to those fighters and cover our space fighters!" The Galaxy Union battleships began firing their guns, covering their own squadron.

"There were only less than 30 enemy fighters left, finish them off!" Loken yelled.

"Yes!!!" The rest of the squadron screamed, "For our captain!"

They fought fiercely, and finally destroyed all enemies fighter. The squadron screamed in excitement.

"Use the guiding beam to tow Belamis' fighter back." Yautsin commanded.

Belamis already fainted in her jet, and Galaxy Warrior's guiding beam towed her along with her jet back, and sat the jet onto the carrier's deck.

Medora was already there waiting, the rest of the squadron arrived one by one, with Loken among them.

The medical personnel got Belamis out of her jet, and started to examine her.

"Not like this ..!!! She's a cyborg!" Loken shouted.

"I am Dr. Joey, Dr. Kitty's student..." The lead medical person was young woman in early twenties, and she replied, "I know how to treat cyborgs, and certainly Belamis.."

Loken was shocked, and he looked at Dr. Joey.

"Take her to the medical room... and also the rest that are injured..." Dr. Joey commanded.

Medora wanted to follow, and Dr. Joey saw her, "Why is there a young girl here ?"

Belamis woke up, and replied feebly, "...she...is...my friend.."

Medora rushed forward and hugged Belamis, "Belamis!!"

Dr. Joey looked, and said, "Very well...she can come ..."

The medical team wheeled Belamis and other injured fighters to the battleship built-in hospital to get them treated.

Belamis was very weak, and was inside the cyborg medical chamber, with Medora watching.

Admiral Yautsin came to the in battleship hospital and looked around.

"Lt. Loken, how many fighters have we lost ?"

"Counting only the squadron, 121 of the 200 returned..." Loken replied, "Considering the vast number of enemy fighters...and their fire powers..."

Admiral Yautsin nodded, and said, "We lost 3 battleships, with 8 severely damaged, and only 12 could still proceed, luckily Galaxy Warrior only sustained minor damages."

Then Yautsin turned to Belamis, and watched her.

Medora was worried, and she shed tears silently.

"What was that she did ?" Loken asked.

"Belamis.... she has powers to leverage cosmic energy ...and shoot it out ... but that would also risk her own life.." Medora replied.

"That blast she did was phenomenal... and unbelievably destructive..." Yautsin said, "..we never see anything like this before.."

Dr. Joey looked at them and said, "Dr. Kitty used to treat Belamis, before I came on board she gave me all the data about Belamis..."

Dr. Joey looked at Belamis, and said slowly, ".... she possessed godlike powers.... but still a mortal..."

Medora interrupted, "I know... she might die..."

Dr. Joey looked at Medora, and knew Medora cared about Belamis, and she then replied, "Don't worry, Belamis is only exhausted.... she will make it."

After 4 hours, Belamis gradually woke up, and looked at Medora. They hugged. Then Belamis noticed Dr. Joey.

"I am Dr. Joey, I am a student of Dr. Kitty, and I learned all about cyborgs from her..." Dr. Joey replied, "She told me a lot about you...."

Belamis nodded, and said, "Thank you."

Belamis wanted to get up, but Dr. Joey replied, "You just recover from your exhaustion, you should rest."

Belamis shook her head and said, "There is a crucial battle ahead, and they need every fighting personnel they have." She spoke as she got out of the cyborg chamber, with Medora holding her hand.

Dr. Joey signed, "Dr. Kitty was right... at times of fighting it is hard to stop you... just rest when you can."

Belamis replied, "I understand.... take care of the other injured ones... I am OK."

Then Belamis and Medora left. As they were on the way back to their quarters, Loken caught up with them.

"Hey.... that was really something you did back there..." Loken said.

Belamis turned, and replied, "Don't mention it..."

Loken knew Belamis risked her life, so he said, "We will cover you...and do anything to save you..."

"No..." Belamis replied, and Medora and Loken was stunned.

Belamis slowly spoke, "In the battle, I fought with all my might for all, and I am ready to sacrifice in the battle field.... the rest of the squadron is to stick to the strategy and go on fighting.."

Loken replied, "...but I know you... you won't leave anyone of us behind...you came back alone and fight with us... likewise we will not leave our Captain out in the enemy fires."

Belamis looked at Loken, and said, "... next time, you might have to make the tough decision to leave me or other comrade behind..."

Loken was stunned, and watched Belamis and Medora left.

Then the public announcement sounded, "All combat personnel standby... enemies crafted detected..."

"No way..." Loken thought. Then he saw Belamis rushed to the direction of the space fighter bay...

Belamis thought in her mind again, ".... will this be the end... will I ever see Kugo again...?"

Chapter 20 Farewell to first love....

Medora realized she had mistaken Belamis to be a man. Embarrassed, but more so felt lost, she stayed in her room.

Belamis knocked, "Can I come in ?"

Medora walked to the door and opened the door. Medora was familiar with the place and could move around though she was blind.

Belamis said gently, "You have been staying indoors for days..... do you want me to take you out ?"

Medora shook her head.

Belamis signed, and looked at her, and said, "I don't know what to say...." she stroked Medora's hair, and Medora turned her head away, and replied in telepathy, "... I am alright..."

Belamis said, "I cared about you as my dearest friend, and you are also special to me because you can change me to the giantess form... I am your protector..."

Medora replied, "...Belamis.... I can't help it.... you... you .. are so brave and strong... I admired you..."

Belamis replied gently, "I am not angry or what.... just worried... nothing you did changed my care and concern to you."

Tears rolled out of Medora's eyes, and she fell into Belamis arms. Belamis hugged her.

Belamis then took Medora outside, and walked together. Medora spoke to Belamis in telepathy, "...I really hoped that you are a man... to protect me.....to love me... and I can love you..."

Belamis replied, "Even as a woman, I can still protect you...and... you can still love me..."

Medora replied, "It is more than that.... I want to spend my life with you..."

Belamis signed, "My heart belonged to a man already... you are still young, unsure about your feelings.. when you grow older, you will get over it..."

Medora stopped midway, and said, "I will still love you.... in my own ways..."

Belamis smiled and said, "Yes."

It was a fine day, the breeze blew up Belamis long hair, and Belamis lied down at the grass meadow just near the orphanage with Medora at her side.

Belamis looked at the skies, then Medora asked, "What is the color of your eyes...?"

"Blue...like the skies..." Belamis replied, as she looked at the skies, and remembering her home planet.

Medora listened to the breeze, and said in telepathy, "I was blind since mother died... I wish I could see your face now....."

Belamis looked at her...and wondered in her mind..."Can my healing powers..."

Then the alarms sounded. Belamis without a second thought, carried Medora and dashed back to the facilities.

Belamis frowned at the sight - the monsters came again. They were relentless.

Dr. Kitty said, "The cyborgs from the Galaxy Union forces are all tied up elsewhere in the Galaxy... and only you are here on Earth.."

Belamis suited herself up, and said, "Then I have to do my best to defend Earth.." She went to her jet and started the engine, and headed out.

Belamis steered her jet and headed to the scene where the monsters were, and she gasped.

"Five of them...gigantic..." Belamis thought. The battle with the monsters that attacked got more severe by the day, and Belamis knew just by how many times she was seriously wounded.

She gazed back at the research facilities, and thought, "...one day... I might be killed in battle... Medora..."

Belamis started her strikes from her jet and shot out blasts to deter the monsters from getting anywhere near populated areas.

"I am not going to let what happened to Gariusu happen here!" Belamis leaped out of her jet and steered her space bike, charging the monster, braving their mighty strikes and blasts of energy.

Belamis struck with her sword using a mighty blast of energy, but the monsters seemed to be unhurt.

"My electromagnetic sword basic weapons were not effective....they were getting stronger by the day!" Belamis thought.

"Space cut!" Belamis yelled, sending a mighty blasts of energy to the monsters... and they only slightly injured, and turned to Belamis and began firing powerful balls of flames.

Belamis dodged and resumed her attack, using her sword. The monsters were winged beasts, looked like giant flying dragons, and they lashed their tails at Belamis.

Belamis dodged on her space bike, but then was hit by another blasts of fireballs.

Belamis clutched her teeth and endured the intense heat and charged, only to be hit by a tail of another monster. The monsters were numerous, a total of eight, and they overwhelmed Belamis.

Belamis space bike nearly hit the ground, before she regained control and she charged again.

Dr. Kitty watched the monitor and was worried.

Medora could not see a thing but she instinctively knew Belamis was in trouble.

Medora secretly reached for the scepter, and sneaked out.

"Aaaarrrrhhh..." Belamis was hit again, and this time she fell to the ground.

"No.... there are too many of them.... I have to use the space sword...."

Belamis hold up her sword, and lashed out a cut sending a high energy stream to the monsters.

The monsters formed a shield and absorbed the energy.

Belamis fell on her knees, that attack she just did used a lot of her life energy...

"I ... I can only use this level on Earth... or else.... the full force of space sword would destroy populated area..." She knew she was still fighting near the vicinity of the city, she could not use her ultimate weapon like she did in space.

Then another avalanche of attack came down to Belamis -- fireballs, high energy beams etc. came firing at Belamis.

Belamis was engulfed in flames and in great pain, and then one monster stepped on Belamis, pinning her down.

The other monsters headed to the city and the research facilities.

Belamis tried to struggle, and could not move. Then in the fire and smoke, she saw Medora coming to her.

Medora said in telepathy, "Belamis...!"

Belamis screamed, "Don't come near!" The monsters started to fire at Medora, and Medora was nearly hit. Then at Medora's side there's an explosion, the force sent Medora falling to the ground.

Belamis yelled, "No!!" In that instant, Belamis transformed. She lost her suit, and became naked. Belamis' forehead glowed as her control unit released, and bright white lights shot out of her eyes, finger tips and toes, and she turned into the giantess.

Belamis rushed and picked up Medora. Medora was hurt slightly. Belamis uttered, "Me..do..ra.."

Medora moaned, and Belamis put her at a hillside. Then Belamis roared, flexing her muscles, and leaped to one of the monsters and fought fiercely.

The monsters fired at Belamis, and Belamis grabbed hold of one monster, turning its mouth to the others, and fired the fireballs at the other monsters. The other monsters were hurt by the fireballs of their own.

Belamis then pulled the tail of one monster, and hurled it round and round on its tail, threw it to another monster. With only her strength, Belamis pinned down two of the monsters with her bare hands, yet the other six surrounded her, firing at her again.

Upon being hit by the fireballs and energy beams, Belamis roared, and she lifted the two monsters with her arms, and used them like weapons and hit back the other six monsters.

Dr. Kitty saw all that, "Belamis was getting stronger and stronger". Belamis roared, and with each hand grabbing one tail of a monster, she threw the monster clear, and leaped up high, sending kicks to another two monster. Yet there were eight of them, the remaining ones suddenly charged at Belamis.

"Belamis!" Dr. Kitty yelled. The monsters used their jaws and grabbed Belamis, sinking their teeth into Belamis arms, another two bit her breast, another two grabbed her legs. The two grabbing her legs began to pull at different direction, pulling hard on Belamis legs.

Belamis let out sound of pain. Then she flexed her arms and struggled, trying to free herself. The two remaining ones spit fireballs at her.

All of a sudden, Belamis whole body glowed, as though she was on fire, letting out a strong bright white glow. After that glow, the monsters let go of her, and then the monsters fell to the ground with Belamis.

The monster all appeared burnt, and Belamis was on the ground, struggling to stand up.

Dr. Kitty saw that, "She used her own energy, letting it out in a burst of energy which killed the monster!"

With that burst of energy, Belamis was able to kill six of the monsters. The energy burst was a combination of strong heat and electromagnetic burst, which annihilate monsters at close range. After this release of energy, Belamis was severely weakened. There were still two monsters, Belamis struggled to stand up, and one of them spit out fireballs at Belamis.

Belamis was hit and she fell to the ground, unable to get up... she was too weak now.

Medora heard the sound, and her telepathy instinct felt that Belamis was in trouble.

"Belamis...." Medora was teary.... then suddenly Medora levitated...and flew towards Belamis.

Belamis saw Medora "flying" towards her, and was stunned.

Medora stopped mid air, and the monster's strong fireball was about to hit Medora, when a force field appeared, shielding Medora, and that effectivly protected Belamis.

Then multiple fireballs hit, Medora's energy field was stopping them.

Belamis struggled up, and uttered.."Medora..." She knew Medora was using her Galaxy Energy to save her.

Medora appeared to be in a trance state, turned, and fired a beam of energy at Belamis breasts.

Immediately Belamis felt energized. She immediately knew that it was Medora giving her the energy. Belamis roared, and leaped to the attacking monster, using her hand chop she hit the monster's head and knock it down, and then she grabbed its jaw, and tore it apart. Then Medora's energy field began to subside, the other monster fired a large fireball at Belamis.

"Belamis..." Medora sent her voice to Belamis in telepathy, as she flew and stopped between Belamis and the monster, and the large fireball hit her. The energy field dropped, and Medora fell from mid air. Belamis roared and caught Medora in her hands, and she leaped up high, and came down with a high diving kick to the remaining monster, hitting its head, and killed it.

Belamis hold Medora in her hands, and Medora was severely injured. Belamis felt that Medora was dying as she saw Medora's face turned pale. Belamis felt the life energy in Medora was waning, and she wailed loudly in sorrow.

Dr. Kitty witnessed, and thought, "Belamis the Gariusu giantess is protecting Medora the girl that possessed Galaxy Energy....."

Tears streamed out of Belamis eyes, and Belamis radiated her own life energy relentlessly. As she did this, Belamis felt enormous pain ripping through her body....she clutched her teeth to endure the pain.

"Arrrhhhh" Belamis moaned softly, and just kept streaming out energy from her own body.

Gradually, the wounds on Medora's body healed, and her face turned from pale to red. Medora was revived.

Belamis turned back to human size, with Medora in her arms.

Dr. Kitty and Assistant Professor Dodge came.

Belamis gently stroked Medora's hair, and breathed heavily. Belamis was exhausted after this fight, and her body was wounded too.

Medora gradually became conscious, and she opened her eyes.

Belamis looked at her, smiled and said, "It's alright..."

Medora reached out her hands, then she spoke, "Belamis...."

Belamis heard her voice...and was overwhelmed with joy, "Medora...you...you can talk...you can talk..."

Medora replied, "Belamis..." Belamis heard Medora's voice again, and it sounded so much like her friend's Medona's voice, and she could not help crying.

"Yes... yes... I can talk... and you eyes... are really blue like the clear skies above me..." Said Medora.

"You can see too ?" Belamis became teary, as she was overjoyed to know that Medora could see again and talk again.

Medora nodded, and her hands were on Belamis face. Tears also rolled out of Medora's eyes.

"Belamis... you are so beautiful...and strong..." Medora said, as she placed her hands on Belamis body, and one hand touched Belamis face. She wiped Belamis tear as Belamis was crying.

Belamis was teary, and she nodded. She stood up with Medora in her arms. Never before Belamis eyes rolled out tears of joy, as she was happy that Medora's eyes were healed and she could talk again. In her heart she felt as if her best friend Medona was also talking to her.

Then Belamis fell on her knees again, and slowly collapsed. Belamis healed Medora with nearly all her own life energy, and Belamis was completely exhausted.

Back at the research facilities, Belamis lied in a coma inside the cyborg recovery chamber. Energy was pumped in to restore Belamis. Medora was watching at the side.

"What happened ?" Medora asked.

"Belamis, she is your protector.... when she saw you in mortal danger, and you are about to die... Belamis gave her life for you literally..." Dr. Kitty said, in tears.

"She saw that you are wounded, and she knew you are dying, so she released nearly all of her own energy to save you." Dr. Kitty continued.

"In that process, Belamis energy was like Galaxy Energy, not only your wound are healed, she streamed out all of her energy and healed your eyes and make you talk again..." Dr. Kitty remarked.

"Really ?" Medora said.

"Yes. In the legends about Gariusu giantesses, they are destined to protect whoever possessed the Galaxy Energy, and those they loved. For your case, its her instinct to give her life for you..." Dr. Kitty said.

"But the person who possessed Galaxy Energy will also help the Gariusu giantess, like you just did...you send you energy to Belamis..." Continued Dr. Kitty.

Medora heard that, and tears rolled out her eyes, "Even if Belamis is not a man, she will...she will give her life for me???..."

Dr. Kitty nodded, and said, "It was the instinct of Gariusu giantess. Belamis will protect you no matter what..."

Belamis remained in coma, and Medora stayed at her side all along.

Chapter 19 A fruitless romantic love and yearning

Medora was in love with Belamis. She approached Assistant Professor Dodge, and used sign language to say, "I want to have a set of pencils and a sketchbook..."

Assistant Professor Dodge replied, "You want to draw ? Amazing! Well here you are!" As he grab a few pencils, and a sketchbook, and handed to Medora.

"What do you want to draw?" Asked Assistant Professor Dodge, as he wondered how Medora could draw in blindness. Medora smiled. She reached her hands out and touched a tea cup, that's Assistant Professor Dodge cup of tea. Medora quickly felt the tea cup, then used the pencils and draw the tea cup accurately, and Assistant Professor Dodge was amazed.

Medora then blushed, as she hold the sketchbook and pencils. She walked back to her room, holding the sketchbook tight.

Belamis and Medora were very close, and sometimes Belamis would even slept in the same bed as Medora.

In Belamis thought, she was merely thinking of keeping Medora company, especially in the lonely nights. A few times she saw Medora was crying in a nightmare, so Belamis would sometimes went over to sleep with her.

As Belamis was asleep, Medora rested her head on Belamis torso, gently feeling Belamis body.

This day Belamis was not in the facilities, she was at the Galaxy Union armed force quarters.

Medora took the sketchbook out and began drawing. The first was Belamis' face, which was a handsome face, and greatly resembled Belamis.
Medora's sense of touch was acute, she pictured accurately in her head how Belamis looked like just by touching Belamis face a few times.

Then on the second page she proceeded to draw Belamis - in the form of a man in total nudity. For she remembered Belamis was naked in giantess form, and she touched Belamis' body a few times.

As Medora drew the upper body of Belamis, she blushed. The drawing resembled Belamis in giantess form, except the breasts were not there, as Medora never touched Belamis' breasts, and Medora imagined that to be a man's strong chest, with a masculine pair of pectorals.

Then Dr. Kitty knocked, "Medora, are you in ?"

Medora tugged her sketchbook under her blanket, and stood up, opening the door.

"I came to see if you are OK." Smiled Dr. Kitty.

Medora nodded.

Dr. Kitty then noticed under the blanket the corner of the sketchbook.

At night, before Belamis was back, Medora drew another picture, one that showing her and Belamis along side, like lovers.

Belamis was back from the quarters and entered Medora's room. Medora hid her sketchbook, and she said to Belamis in telepathy, "You are back!"

Belamis said, "Yes...". Medora stood up and went to hug Belamis. Belamis stroke her hair gently, and hugged her. Medora's felt her heart was beating quickly, and she smelled Belamis' body scent.

Belamis looked and found it awkward, and she asked, "What is it ?"

Medora raised her head, and blushed, then she told Belamis in telepathy, "Nothing... I just feel very happy when you are around.."

Belamis looked at her, and said, "Let's take a walk outside, it would be better than staying indoors all the time." Belamis then took her out, Medora hold Belamis hand tightly.

When they were outside, Dr. Kitty entered Medora's room, and found the sketchbook.

Dr. Kitty looked at the pictures, and frowned, "Goodness.....".
Before her eyes was a picture of Belamis, whole body, naked, even with man's genitals.

Dr. Kitty thought, "It's easy for this kind of misunderstanding.... Belamis was tough like a man, she was very handsome, chivalrous, brave and strong...all qualities of a man where a woman will admire..."

Belamis and Medora were back, and Medora slept.

Dr. Kitty approached Belamis, and said, "Belamis.... we need to talk."

"What ?" Belamis exclaimed as she heard Dr. Kitty spoke about Medora's sketchbook.

"Yes. I think she is in love with you... she thought you were a handsome young man..." Dr. Kitty replied.

Belamis signed.

She remembered the first time she encountered Kugo, Kugo also thought she was a man. Only Princess Aurora could tell otherwise. Now Belamis body grew much more stronger, without her breasts her very muscular body was almost indistinguishable from a man's body, except she was a bit more slender and did not have the external genitals like a man.

"The body of you changed to such a form because you are now the defender of Galaxy Energy - in the records we found, Gariusu giantess were all like that, with muscular body." Dr. Kitty said.

"Medora developed a deep affection to you.... she loved you like she loved a man." Dr. Kitty continued.

Belamis folded her arms, and looked at the window, and said, "No wonder .... I noticed her awkward behaviors, she clung to my arm, lean onto me, and she blushed at me too. I thought she was attached to me like a sister.... but... how should I tell her ?"

Dr. Kitty, "In time, she will find out.... but that should not change the way you cared about her, and her caring about you...except you are not her love interest..."

Belamis looked out the window, and remembered the anguish of such kind of one way love, as she recalled her feelings to Kugo, before Kugo responded to her, and they finally found each other.

"To be in love, and not knowing how the other one feels, is bitter sweet..." Belamis remarked, "I cannot bring myself to hurt Medora's feelings now by telling her directly, but one day she must know that she cannot love me as she loved a man..."

Belamis walked to Medora's room, and entered. There Medora was sleeping, and her sketchbook was on the floor. It fell out of the blanket. Belamis picked it up and turned the pages, and the drawings were fine, each portraying Belamis' face in great detail, showing her hair, her large blue eyes, the long eye lashes, her dark distinct eyebrows, her nose, lips and her body. Belamis blushed as she saw Medora depicted her as a man with man's genitals.

"Good grief..." Belamis blushed, but she secretly thought of how it was like to have sex. Belamis was still a virgin.

Belamis put the sketchbook back to the floor, and gently stroke Medora's hair, and could not find words to say.

"Eventually you will find out..." Belamis thought to herself.

It was daytime, Medora was up early, out in the open, breathing the fresh air. She felt her way in the green meadows, and picked flowers. As she strolled along, she hummed a tune happily.

Belamis saw her from afar, and knew she was in love, and Belamis signed.

"Belamis, you are here ?" That was Medora's telepathy.

Belamis replied, "Yes." Belamis thought, "Yes...she could read my mind if I let her...but..." Belamis again hesitated.

Then suddenly there was a alarm from the research facilities.

"Monster attack!" Belamis thought. She ran to Medora and said, "It's dangerous out here, let's go back." Belamis carried Medora in her arms, and ran back to the facilities, entered the main control room, and put Medora down.

"Stay here with Dr. Kitty..." Belamis gently said.

Medora nodded, and in her heart the caring voice of Belamis made her grew even fonder.

Belamis went out, and before she exit the room, she turned and looked at Medora, and thought to herself, "If I was a man... I probably would love her too...".

Belamis was 21 years old, just 6 or 7 years older than Medora. Medora was a blossoming young girl, and like any young girl, would yearn for the love of a man, especially she was now all alone, with no family, she satisfied her emotional needs by yearning for a man.

Belamis knew how Medora felt as she felt the same when she found she was in love with Kugo. Belamis signed and headed to her space fighter. She boarded her space fighter and headed out to face the monsters.

There were two flying monsters, which resembled flying dragons. The monsters were heading to the city.

Belamis fired shots from her space fighter to deter them. The monsters turned to her.

"Come on! Monster!" Belamis said, and she accelerated her space fighter and charged to them.

Belamis fired her energy beams from her space fighter, but the monsters were slightly injured only, and started to attack Belamis with their hot energy blasts. Belamis space fighter dodged the blasts, and climbed to a high altitude, and Belamis leaped out into her space bike and drew her electromagnetic sword.

"EM-thunder!!!" Shouted Belamis, as she charged at full speed to the monsters. EM-Thunder hit one of them, and the monster hit back with fire from their mouth.

Belamis dodged the flames and hold up her sword: "EM sword - cut!" She welded her sword and sliced the monster's left wing.

The other monster came from Belamis back and spit out high energy flames at Belamis. The flames hit Belamis and Belamis groaned in pain. She steered away, and was shocked to find the monster which she sliced of the wing re-grow new wings.

"Damn..." Belamis thought. The monsters had regenerating capability, and Belamis knew she could not use the same attack.

"Either I subdue them and change them back...or I have to destroy them completely...".

The monsters went alternatively to attack Belamis, and Belamis was finding it hard to cope. Then one of them spit out a large blob of mucus, hitting Belamis. The mucus was sticky and like glue, and Belamis fell to the ground, completely trapped.

"Arrh..." Belamis tried to pull, but the substance was like molten rubber, but much tougher, and she could not break free.

The two monsters headed to the research facilities, and began attacking it fiercely.

"Go to the shelters!" Dr. Kitty yelled. The people, including Medora began to run, Dr. Kitty hold Medora's hand, and they went with the people down the underground shelter.

The monsters' attack was intense, and the facilities shook as multiple explosions occurred. Dr. Kitty and Medora ran down the stairs but they fell to the ground as the ground shook. Then a big explosion blew open the walls, exposing a big part of the shelter.

Belamis witnessed the facilities was under attack, and Dr. Kitty and Medora was in danger.

Medora cried for help in telepathy, "Belamis!!!!"

Belamis let out a loud cry, and her forehead glowed. She turned into the giantess form and broke free from the sticky blob that trapped her.

Belamis flexed her muscles, and then ran over, just in time to shield the people, including Dr. Kitty and Medora. The monsters' blasts of energy ray hit Belamis back and injured her. Belamis turned and roared, she leaped up high and grabbed one of them, throwing it to the ground.

The other turned and spit a large sticky blob onto Belamis, it hit Belamis chest, binding her arms and and upper body.

Belamis struggled, and the monsters attacked her by spitting more flames at her.

Belamis groaned in pain.

Dr. Kitty saw Belamis was in pain, Medora heard Belamis' cries, and both were worried.

Belamis roared and pulled hard to break free from the sticky blog of mucus, and she grabbed hold of one of the monsters, and maimed its wings. The other was in the air, Belamis picked up a piece of rock and threw it to the monster, hitting it and it fell to the ground. Belamis immediately subdue both of them with her strength, and emitted her energy to change them back to normal beasts.

Belamis turned, and looked at Dr. Kitty and Medora. In an instant, Belamis returned to human form. Belamis approached Medora, and said, "Come over, Medora...". Belamis reached out her arms, and hold Medora's hands. Medora reached her hands out and began feeling her way.

Belamis knelt down, and at that moment, Medora's hands touched Belamis' breasts. Belamis hold Medora's hand, and kept Medora's hands on her breasts. Medora felt Belamis' breasts, she gently pressed with her finger tips, and then felt the shape of Belamis' breasts, touched Belamis' nipples, and felt her entire pectorals and breasts... Medora rested her head on Belamis chest, and realized something.

Medora gasped. Belamis gently hugged Medora, and said, "I will be like your big sister...to care about you..."

As Medora heard these words, she shed silent tears, and cried as she laid her head on Belamis' strong chest.

Belamis let her cry, and she hold back her tears, then she hugged Medora, and stroked her hair.

Starzinger II - the sequel that never fly

Episode 64 of Starzinger ended with Belamis death, and the company landed at the Great Planet, where Princess Aurora restored the Galaxy Energy. It was supposed to be the end.

The producers went on to make the sequel dubbed Starzinger II, where the story line returned to the old formula - the three cyborgs and the Princess' adventure in space.

The sequel could only sustain 9 episodes, with no spark at all. I recently came across the introduction to this sequel:
「ＳＦ西遊記」として好評を博した同題作品の第二弾。前作最終回の翌週から放映された、完全な後日談である。宇宙を救う愛の王女オーロラ姫を目的の星に送 り、その使命を終えた戦士ジャン・クーゴ、サー・ジョーゴ、ドン・ハッカたち３人。だがまだ宇宙の辺境では、邪悪なスペースモンスターが暴れていた。その 事実を知ったオーロラ姫はふたたび３人の戦士を呼集。現在、最凶のモンスターが住むというゴルゴア星系に向かい、そこを浄化する決意を固めた。４人の新た なる旅が始まる。前作で主人公ジャン・クーゴのライバル役だった男装の麗人ベラミスが退場した以外は、ほぼ従来と同じ方向で描かれる宇宙冒険もの。ただし 今回は新趣向として、クーゴは巨大化能力「アストロ変身」、縮小能力「ミクロ変身」を獲得。活劇演出に新味が加えられた。

Using Google translate, I sort of deduced the meaning. The producers created the sequel because the series got very positive ratings. It was aired right after the last episode of the first series. Interesting the introduction mentioned the 退場 (end of the role) of Kugo's arch-rival Belamis, and described Belamis as 男裝麗人 (a beautiful woman dressed like a man).

In Japanese manga and anime, 男裝麗人 is a kind of character that attracts audience. The classic examples are Lady Oscar and Prince Sapphire.

These 男裝麗人 is like the Prince Charming, often female audiences adored these 男裝麗人, and such roles appeared again and again in Japanese anime series.

For Starzinger II, the sequel lost an interesting character, one sharply contrasted with Princess Aurora, and one with a distinct personality. Even though the producers gave Kugo new powers, dressed the Princess up to look more tough, they could not get the series to sustain.

My thought was confirmed when I came across discussion threads saying that the ratings of Starzinger II dropped significantly. Belamis was the most talked about person from the "enemy side", overwhelmingly popular and got a lot of sympathy.

If Belamis lived, her presence would have created a tension in the show, like a wildcard that surprised viewers. Her love to Kugo could also creat a suspense among viewers - who would Kugo choose ? The gentle, soft spoken and beautiful and Princess Aurora or the strong, tough-talking warrior Belamis ? Belamis change of heart after she decided to fight Prince Guyma would also create suspense on what kind of person Belamis would become eventually, and what would be her relationships with Kugo et al in the subsequent adventures -- or would Belamis eclipse Kugo ? In a lot of the case where such 男裝麗人 appeared, 男裝麗人 would eclipse the leading male and female character. This happened for the manga Rose of Versailles, where the author originally created Oscar Francois de Jarjayes as the supporting role to the main character Marie Antoinette, but Oscar's popularity among the readers quickly caused the author to change direction and Oscar eclipsed all other characters.

It did not happen exactly the same way in Starzinger. Firstly Kugo was the protagonist, the good guy, and Belamis was in an opposing trajectory to Kuguo. . Yet the producers gave Belamis the fine chivalrous character, emotions already earned her enough sympathy to draw a lot of fans, even as the "rival" of Kugo.

Imagine if she became the "good guy" and started to fight the evil ones with her charm, wits and chivalry - I would think her charm, personality and cool look would really make Kugo and the Princess looked like supporting roles. It would be natural for the producers to have intended that Kugo and the Princess to remain the leading characters, not to be eclipse by a character, originally intended to be a passing role. I don't think they anticipated how successful Belamis became then.

In the manga, Belamis appeared only a few pages, less than 10% in the 3 volume set. In the manga Belamis looked a lot more feminine, emotional and less tough (though in the manga Belamis actually injured Kugo!). The character in the manga was short-lived and would not impress many people.

However, the producers for Starzinger made a lot of changes to Belamis in the anime. First she became the 男裝麗人, much more handsome and cool than the manga depicted, her fighting powers were more impressive (though she did not injure Kugo in the series, we could see her powers and Kugo were very close match).

Moreover, in the anime the producers expanded a lot on her character, and went to great length to give Belamis more role and let her feature in nearly a third of Starzinger I. The anime spent a lot of time depicting Belamis' tragic past, inner feelings, compassionate character, bravery, ambition, chivalrous act and her love to Kugo. Belamis interacted more with other characters, showing her inner conflicts, toughness and her willingness to show compassion. As a result, Belamis stood out as a very vivid and interesting female character, one that contrasted with Princess Aurora, and with more inner emotions the viewers could experience. I can imagine viewers started out disliking her in the first place, but gradually become more sympathy of her as they learned of her tragic past, and later on as her more positive side were revealed, people began to admire her, and hoped she would recant her service to Queen Lacets and became a warrior of justice. Eventually Belamis did recant her loyalty to the evil empire and fought alongside with Kugo, and to the dismay of many, the character expanded to the point that she became the courageous warrior to make the ultimate sacrifice for people who lost their home planets.

I think a lot of people missed dearly Belamis like I do, and wondered how would the show became if Belamis lived.

I recently found this online vote for the most popular 男裝麗人 in anime series, The vote excluded Lady Oscar and Prince Sapphire who would be the obvious winners all time winners. I was delighted to find that Belamis came in third place (i.e. number five if we include the two obvious winners). Given that Belamis was not the main character, and only appeared in part of the show, she ranked the highest among "non-main characters". The top two, Tenoh Haruka from Sailor Moon and Amari (Three Musketeers in Japanese Anime) were main characters and appeared throughout their respective series, Belamis' position meant that she impressed a lot of viewers even till this day.

Informal it may be, it showed that among Japanese anime fans, there were a lot of people who remembered Belamis and regarded her as a fine heroine.

Chapter 18 Breaking the mental block

Once Belamis realized that she had a mental block to prevent her transformation, she was worried.

Medora was at her bedside taking care of her, changing her bandages on her body and her eyes.

Medora had a romantic feeling towards Belamis, and looked upon Belamis as a man.

Belamis eyes were still recovering, she could not stand the bright lights yet. Dr. Kitty examined her eyes.

"You need to keep those bandages on for at least another week. The corrosion of the monster's saliva was not serious, but your eyes needed rest."

Belamis nodded, as Dr. Kitty placed two pads over her eyes.

When the bandage was done, Belamis placed her hand on Medora's shoulder, and said, "Take me out for a walk...."

Dr. Kitty nodded, and Belamis went out with Medora.

Medora could not speak, so she just hold Belamis hand. Medora could feel her way in total blindness around the facilities and she took Belamis out.

Belamis and Medora sat beside the beach.

Medora leaned upon Belamis, and felt heavenly.....it was like a date. Belamis gently stroke Medora's hair.

"Medora...." Belamis said..... "Do you know.... why I transformed ?"

Medora could not speak, so she held Belamis hand and replied in telepathy, "I only know you are different... like I am different...". In her heart she thought..."you are also special to me..."

Belamis paused... and said, "I am different... and would have been an outcast.. if not for my adopted parents..." She told Medora about her past, and Medora placed her hands beside Belamis' head, and said in telepathy, "..can I look ?" Belamis nodded.

Medora used her telepathy powers to look at Belamis' past, and shed tears as she found out more, how Belamis lost her home planet, how she witnessed her mother's and friend's death, how she found out about her identity as Gariusu giant, and finally the death of the old Queen.

Medora spoke to Belamis in her telepathy, "Belamis.... I am also an outcast...... I could read people's mind and talk to them in telepathy...they are scared of me... I have no friends in schools... only mother knew my powers... and accepted me.."

Belamis hugged Medora with her arms, and said, "I will be your friend ... forever...". Medora fell into Belamis' arms and cried.

Belamis had to stay in the research facilities for most of her time, and Medora stayed with her.

Then suddenly the alarms sounded.

"What is that ?" Belamis asked. Medora opened her mouth, only a weak sound of gasping came out, and she hold Belamis hand.

"I ... I have to fight..." Belamis said, as she got up, and then suited herself up.

Medora pushed Belamis chest, and in her telepathy, said, "No.... your eyes are still wounded..."

Belamis said, "... the monster will be too powerful for this research facilities and even the defense forces of Earth... I have to go.."

Belamis struggled and walked out, then suddenly Medora said to her in telepathy, "Belamis ... kneel down..."

Belamis knelt down, and Medora then placed her hands over Belamis eyes. Belamis felt a surge of energy on her eyes, and then she pulled off the bandages, she could see.

"Medora... what have you done ?" Belamis exclaimed, as she saw Medora face was pale and she obviously was very weak.

"Belamis..... go..." Medora said to her in telepathy.
Immediately Belamis realized what happened, Medora used her Galaxy energy to heal her eyes.

Belamis eyes filled with tears, and she said to Medora, ".... you.... you don't have to..."

"Belamis, I love you.." Medora said to her in telepathy.

Belamis picked Medora up with her arms and gently placed her onto the bed, and said, "Wait here for me... and don't go anywhere..."

It was the second time Medora was in Belamis arms. She clearly felt Belamis' strong arms and body, and she blushed. Belamis did not noticed she was blushing.

Belamis replied gently, "Stay with the others... I will protect here, you and Dr. Kitty!" She stormed out and leaped to her jet.

"Blue Star! Launch!" Belamis exclaimed. She started her jet and flew to fight the monster.

The monster was like a gigantic ape, throwing it arms around, and shooting out beams from its eyes.

Belamis yelled, "Attack!" Power lasers shot out from her jet, and she also started shooting bullets.

The monster was only slightly deterred, it still headed to the research facilities. Belamis drew her sword, and leaped out of her jet, and rode her space bike and charged the monster.

"Electro-bolt!" Belamis shot out the energy from her sword hitting the monster. Belamis then leaped up and sent EM-thunder to the monster. The monster roared as it was hit, suddenly it drew a large stick with spikes on it, then hurling it to Belamis. Belamis steered her space bike away and turned, shooting out EM-bullets at the monster.

Suddenly the monster opened its mouth and spilled out red hot flames, hitting Belamis. Belamis fell to the ground, but she jumped up and yelled, "EM-thunder!" The monster turned to Belamis and shot a strong energy beam from its large club, hitting Belamis.

"Arh..." Belamis was injured, and fell to the ground.

Medora did not stay in bed, because in her telepathy she "saw" Belamis was in pain. She got out of the bed and felt her way out.

The monster proceeded to the research facilities.

Dr. Kitty commanded, "Turn on the energy shield!" The energy shield surrounded the facilities, the monster hit it with its club, and then shooting it with its flames.

"The shield could only hold for a few minutes..." Dr. Kitty said.
Medora was afraid and shaking as she heard the loud bang sound as the monster was attacking. She knew where the scepter was, as Dr. Kitty once showed her where it was placed, but she was hesitating.

Medora remembered what Belamis said about not to use the scepter on her.

Belamis struggled to get up, and she shot a blast of Electro-bolt to the monster, the monster turned, then suddenly grabbed hold of Belamis and squeezed.

Belamis felt the crushing force, and her bones felt like they would be crushed, and she yelled in pain.

"Belamis!!" Dr. Kitty yelled.

Belamis tried to resist with all her might, but the monster was much too strong, even with Belamis' strength. The monster threw Belamis onto the ground, and proceeded to attack the facilities, hitting the energy shield.

"No... the energy shield is not going to hold..." Assistant Professor Dodge yelled.

In a loud bang, the energy shield broke, and the research facilities had no protection.

"Dr. Kitty.. Medora...." Belamis looked and struggled up..... "... I... I cannot transform.." Belamis was shocked and full of frustration...

Belamis used her high speed movement, and stood before the monster, and looked fearlessly.

"Even if I die..." Belamis hold up her sword, and yelled, "EM-thunder!" She shot out a strong blast of EM-thunder to the monster. The monster roared and kicked Belamis, sending her crashing to a tree. Belamis could not stand up.

Medora knew the energy field was gone, and she felt her way out, and got to the exit of the facilities, and walked out in the open. Using her hearing and touch, she knew the position of Belamis and she ran.

The Medora was tripped by a twig and fell to the ground, but she got out and continued.

"Medora, where are you going ?" Dr. Kitty exclaimed.

Medora ran all the way towards Belamis.

Belamis saw Medora coming, and yelled, "Go away! Don't!"

The monster spitted out flames and nearly hit her.

Belamis saw Medora and said, "No... run away....". Medora shook her head and said in telepathy..."No... you are my friend..."

The monster raised the spiked club and was about to hit at Belamis.

The old memories of her friend Medona flashed back to her.... and the scene of Medona died in her arms resurfaced...the two ran alone in the wild, running away from the monster attacking them, and then the energy blasts nearly hit Medona... Belamis and Medona ran and ran...

Belamis saw Medora ran towards her, and the monster's blasts would hit them... "....Medora!! No...!!!"

Then Belamis eyes welled up in tears, and she remembered their conversations...

"Belamis... go.... just leave me.... and run for you life!" Said Medona.

Belamis immediately said to Medora, "Medora.... leave me..... run for your life!"

"Don't talk like that! We are best friends... I am not leaving without you" Belamis remembered what she said to Medona. Medora then looked at her and shook her head, in telepathy, "... don't say such things..... you are my best friend now... I am not leaving you here..."

"Run... run!!" Belamis remembered she pushed Medona away. She then pushed Medora away just as she did to her best friend before.

Then Belamis remembered.....Medona was hit by the monster's blasts, and fell down.

"Medona! Hang on!! Hang On..... Medona!!" Belamis hold Medona in her arms and wept...

The monster raised the spiked club and about to strike Belamis. Medora threw herself onto Belamis body.

"No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Belamis yelled..........

Then Belamis' forehead glowed.... eyes shot out white light, and her suit was off, then she transformed just in time to the giantess form, and grabbed the spiked club with one hand, and her other hand shielding Medora.

Medora heard the sound and knew Belamis transformed, and tears rolled out her eyes.

Belamis looked at Medora, and said in a low voice... "Me...do...ra..." She flexed her muscles and pushed the monster back with all her might.

The monster spewed out flames from its mouth, Belamis took that blast and roared loudly, hitting the monster with her fists, and then punched the monster, hitting it. The monster retreated.

Belamis picked up Medora and leaped to a spot, and she placed Medora behind a rock for shelter.

Belamis had no weapons but only her body, she charged the monster and leaped up, sending a flying kick to the monster's head, the monster fell to the ground.

Belamis then lifted up the monster and threw it to the ground again. The monster hit back with its spiked club, hitting Belamis left arm. Belamis braved the pain and injury, grabbed both hands of the monster and pushed it away. Belamis and the monster wrestled, and the monster pushed Belamis.

Belamis flexed her muscles, and she was so strong that she could pushed back a gigantic ape nearly twice her size. She then leaped up, and snatched the club from the monster, and hit the monster back, driving it backwards.

Belamis then wrapped her arms round the monster's neck, and grabbed tightly, suffocating it.

The monster struggled, but Belamis was strong, and her arms grabbed so tight that the monster gradually fell, and could not move.

Then Belamis sent out her energy, turning the monster back to an ordinary ape.

Medora was there, though she could not see a thing she heard the sound of the fierce battle, and knew Belamis was injured, and from her telepathy, she knew Belamis was in pain.

Belamis turned and knelt down to her, and said, "...Me..do..ra.."

Medora reached out and touched Belamis hand, and she was crying. Belamis nodded, and then she returned to human form. Medora then hugged Belamis, who was naked and wounded.

Belamis looked at Medora, she smiled and said, "... I am alright..." Medora touched Belamis' strong muscular body, Belamis slowly collapsed, and a drop of tear rolled out the corner of her eye.

Medora placed her hands on Belamis body. She felt Belamis hands, and she moved her hands along Belamis' arms, and felt the muscles on Belamis' arms. Then Medora touched Belamis shoulders, and felt her strong deltoids, and then Medora moved her arms to Belamis chest. Medora wanted to imagine how Belamis' body looked, and she touched Belamis upper pectorals, and just about the moment Medora could touch Belamis' breast, Dr. Kitty came.

Medora took her hands off Belamis body, and blushed.

Dr. Kitty saw all that, and said nothing.

In the research facilities, Belamis was resting, with bandages all over her.

Dr. Kitty and Medora were at Belamis' bedside, and both were worried about Belamis.

Gradually Belamis woke up, and saw Medora and Dr. Kitty, she signed.

Dr. Kitty spoke, "Belamis......." She stop short of saying that Belamis could transform again... for every time Belamis transform it was a dangerous situation, and Belamis would be seriously wounded and suffered.

Medora held Belamis hand and started to cry.

"Don't cry Medora..." Belamis reached out her left hand and touched Medora's face, "I am alright..." Medora hugged Belamis.

Dr. Kitty looked at the two, and fixed her gaze at Medora.

Chapter 17 The scepter

Belamis saw the old Queen died and turned into a ball of energy an entered her body.

For a day and a night, Belamis cried and wailed in deep grief in her giantess form, with her body's wounds all open and bleeding, and she shook as she felt the immense pain in her heart -- it was like witnessing her own mother's death all over again, and that grief was unbearable to Belamis.

Belamis felt as though her heart was ripped apart over and over again, as she felt the wrenching pain in her heart, and she wailed and howled. Then Belamis started to pick up large boulders and toss it high to the air.

Princess Aurora remarked, "What ...??" The boulder fell and its sharp edge hit Belamis' chest and body, and she bleed.

"No...!!!" Princess Aurora yelled, and Belamis picked up boulders again and threw them up, and letting them hit her body. The boulders had sharp ends and the sharp ends hit Belamis' breast.

Belamis just repeatedly threw boulders up and let them hit her body,  again and again, wailing and weeping as she tormented herself.

Princess Aurora looked on and could do nothing, and she watched Belamis inflicting harm to her body. Princess Aurora remembered the old Queen once told her, the legendary Gariusu giantess loved the Queen of the Great Planet, and would rather her suffer infinite pain than the Queen die, and that's what Belamis was doing.

"It was like a primeval cry.... as if Belamis is asking the gods to give back the life of the Queen..." Princess Aurora thought. Belamis roared and howled on her knees, eyes streaming out tears. Then Belamis lifted up another huge boulder, toss it to the sky. The boulder fell and its sharp end hit Belamis' chest, and more blood flowed out of Belamis open wounds.

Belamis wailed loudly, body shaking, tears streaming out her eyes.

"Belamis..." Princess Aurora shouted..."Don't torture yourself!!!"

Belamis breathed heavily, body covered with blood, and looked at the Princess, and uttered in her low voice, "Queen.... mama...ma..ma.." as tears streamed out of her eyes, she wailed loudly again, the voice full of sadness and grief, and she yelled, "Ma.................".

Then Belamis put her fingers on her opened wounds and pulled to rip open her own flesh. The sound of ripping open her flesh was horrid, and Princess Aurora had to cover her ears..."No...."

Princess Aurora watched helplessly and thought,  "Her heart is torn apart..... she was extremely painful...." Belamis looked up to the heavens, and roared, and her body shook.

Then Belamis let out a long wail, the wailing sound was full of pain, before she finally collapsed, and returned to human form.

When Belamis woke up, Princess Aurora was at her side. Princess Aurora tended Belamis' wounds, and her body was bandaged. Belamis tried to move, but her wounds hurt and she moaned.

Princess Aurora said gently, "Rest well... you wounds are serious..." She put a quilt over Belamis.

Belamis looked at Princess Aurora, eyes glittered with tears and she closed her eyes to rest.

 After a few days when her wounds were better, Belamis put her suit back on and patrolled the Great Planet according to her duties as a army officer. She turned back from the giantess who freely expressed her emotions in complete innocence to the cool-headed and calm soldier who would not let her emotions out.

Yet Princess Aurora knew very well that Belamis was grieving inside, but Belamis tried to act calm on the surface, so that Princess Aurora would not worry about her.

Night and day Belamis stayed up, looking at the heavens. Princess Aurora knew she was still grief-stricken.

Belamis would not sleep, but spent nights kneeling outside the palace at the Great Planet, looking at the stars. In her heart, she was struggling. She was the Gariusu giantess, who protected Dr. Kitty, Kugo, and supposedly the old Queen. Yet at the same time the old Queen died for her.

Belamis struggled at this apparent contradiction, and shed tears silently.

Then news finally arrived from the Galaxy Union commander, "Colonel Belamis, it is time for you to return to Earth and station there as the Captain of the star fighter squadron."

Belamis nodded, and she looked at Princess Aurora.

Princess Aurora looked at Belamis, and saw in her eyes deep grief and sorrow.

"Belamis, you must not blame yourself...." Princess Aurora spoke gently, as she put her hands on Belamis shoulder.

Belamis said nothing, and bowed her head. Princess Aurora still remembered the sound of Belamis' wailing when she was in the giantess form, she knew Belamis loved the old Queen and still struggling from the deep sadness. Princess Aurora hugged Belamis tightly, and said, "I know how you feel....."

Belamis closed her eyes, and hugged the Princess back. Princess Aurora stroke Belamis hair and back, and looked at her blue eyes.

Then Princess Aurora took out something, and placed it on Belamis hand. It was the scepter.

"I am not going to keep this.. bring it with you so that you can have something to remember the old Queen...." Princess Aurora said.

Belamis looked at the scepter in her hand, eyes filled with tears, nodded, and said, "I will be strong... and fight to the end for the peace of the cosmos...." Then she boarded her jet and started the engine, and flew away in her jet.

In her jet, Belamis looked at the scepter, and was in deep thought.

She remembered to old Queen's tenderness, and also her love. She remembered all the test she endured as the Gariusu giantess, and how the old Queen transferred all her Galaxy energy to make her strong. Belamis felt her body was much stronger, and she even could see she had grown more muscular.

"...why...why am I the Gariusu giantess...." Belamis thought, as she recalled her own past, being adopted by General Conan. The twist and turn of her fate were inexplicable, and it all turned out that she had to be the warrior to guard the Galaxy energy.

Belamis looked at the vast cosmos, she was now the only Gariusu being alive in the whole cosmos, lonely and yet she had to shoulder such heavy responsibility, and suffer so much grief.

Belamis hold the scepter, and bowed her head, closed her eyes and wept silently. Her jet soon jumped to hyper warp flight mode, speeding back to Earth.

In just a few hours Belamis was back on Earth, and she headed to the Galaxy Union base to report duty.

Belamis saluted General Kahn. General Kahn said, "We will soon launch a major counter strike, and we need you and others to be commanders. Come, meet the soldiers at your command."

They went to a large room, General Kahn said, "These people were volunteers from many different places in the Galaxy, and they specifically wanted to be under your command."

Djorgo was also there, listening to the briefing, alongside with Belamis.

"Fellow comrade fighters, this is Colonel Belamis. She will be your commander." General Kahn announced.

Then several tenths of men and women said loudly in unison, "Chief Captain Belamis, we are proud to be at your command!"

"Chief Captain ?" Belamis wondered. This was her title when she was the commander at Giuma Legion and Lacets Legion.

"You have been kind to us before.... we are from Giuma Legion and Lacets Legion, we returned to our planets after you released us from our duties.." One of the men said.

"You are a fine commander and also one that cares about us.." Another of the women said, "..and you are chivalrous and brave, we came and join the forces to protect the peace of this Galaxy."

Djorgo listened, and thought to himself, "Belamis is really a fine leader, she could command such loyalty."

"When you alone challenged and fought with Prince Guyma's battleship... we are really impressed by your courage and sense of justice..." Once said.

"She fought with Prince Guyma's battleship...?" Djorgo wondered.

Belamis nodded, and said, "Thank you..... I have the duty to see that you are all safe under my command.... the Galaxy Union will soon arrange your assignments...."

The briefing ended, and Djorgo caught up with one of those men, and asked, "Did you say Belamis faced up to Prince Guyma's battleship all by herself ?" Djorgo remembered Prince Guyma was chasing after them.

"Yes.... we were.... pursuing Queen Cosmos.... our fighter planes surrounded the cyborgs... Kugo, and the other two... Chief Captain Belamis alone in her jet, stalled the battleship... braving the giant canons of the battleship....she hold back the battleship...so that Queen Cosmos escaped... until her jet was shot down.. we were worried about her.... she could have been killed..." The man recalled that battle.

Djorgo looked at Belamis who was leaving the room, and wondered, "She helped us previously all along... but told none of us anything about it..."

"Belamis was a good captain, she would not use us as human bombs against enemies.... under her command..... we felt dignified and also cared for... she cared about us..." The man replied.

"I am sure she is a caring and fine commander.." Djorgo said.

Belamis left the room, and according to the briefing, she would soon be on board a battleship, leading a squadron of fighters as their captain.

Djorgo came from behind and hailed her, "Hey... Belamis!"

Belamis turned, and said, "Djorgo... sorry... I was lost in thoughts..."

"I think...we owe you a lot of gratitude..." Djorgo said, "Even before you came to Earth... you have helped Kugo, me, Hakkah and the Princess.... without letting us know..."

"I am just doing what a honorable soldier and as a knight will do......" Belamis replied, "I nearly forget about these things...."

Djorgo replied, "But these things counts.... Thank you."

She parted with Djorgo and headed back to the research facilities to join Dr. Kitty there in her jet.

Belamis looked at Dr. Kitty, Dr. Kitty knew all about the old Queen from Princess Aurora, and saw in Belamis eyes deep grief.

"Come.... you should get yourself out of the suit and just take a day off.." Dr. Kitty said.

Belamis nodded, and she took her fighting suit off and wore plain clothes.
She took out the scepter belonging to the old Queen, and handed to Dr. Kitty, "This scepter.. belongs to the old Queen... can you keep it for me ?"

Dr. Kitty said, "It's OK. You can leave it with me, I will keep it for you."

Belamis went to the orphanage again. She went to the small shed where her master Nia used to live. The place was covered with dust, so she cleaned up the place, and sat on the wooden floor, looking at the old man's stuff. Tears rolled from her eyes....

Belamis lost a lot of people who loved her, her parents, her dearest friend Medona, Shierus, old Nia and also the old Queen.

She sat there looking at the shed, and signed. Then she stood up and headed to the orphanage.

As before, the children welcomed her... surrounded her. Belamis smiled, only this place could give her joy.

She slept in the shed and spent time in the orphanage. Belamis looked at the vulnerable children, and also the people on Earth.

"The people... this planet.... all I can repay for the joy and happiness I owe them.. is to protect them with my life..." Belamis thought, as she gazed the setting sun.

Then suddenly the transmitter she was wearing sounded an alarm...

"Attacks from monsters... at the research facilities!" Belamis ran down the hill, and then suited herself up. She summoned her jet and leaped into its cockpit, and headed to where the attack was.

There a gigantic, dinosaur like monster was spitting out flames, tearing around the town. Belamis leaped from her jet, drew her sword and rode on her space bike and started to attack.

"Electro-Bolt!" Belamis yelled, and the monster was hit, and deterred from proceeding to a building. The monster turned to Belamis, and spewed out flames at her. Belamis dodged and turned to the monster, shooting out EM-bullets.

As she was fighting, suddenly Belamis thought she heard a sound, "Help...!!!!"

Belamis steered her space bike around, and looked, "What is that sound...?"

It was the voice of a girl, crying for help...

Then she thought she heard it... "It was not a voice to my ears..... it's like..." Belamis thought...

Belamis hunch drew her attention to a building on fire. Belamis steered the bike nearer and that hunch was much stronger..

"Someone was trapped..." Belamis thought. She leaped into the window of the burning building from her space bike, and ran into the burning building.

Belamis looked around, and the same voices echoed in her mind, "Help.....!!" Then Belamis saw a small shadow amongst the rubble behind a fallen pillar, the room was filled with smoke, and flames were spreading. Belamis ran over, and saw a small body huddled at a corner, covering with a wet blanket. Belamis immediately picked the small body up with one arm, then took her cloak off and covered the person. Her cloak was made of materials that was fireproof. When one hand holding the person, Belamis ran to the window and jumped out.

It was six storey high, and Belamis landed on the pavement, then she saw the monster attacking. She took the child to a corner, and said, "Wait here for me..."

Belamis then leaped to her space bike and then charged the large dinosaur, and yelled, "EM-thunder". Her sword shot out strong blast of EM energy, hitting the monster. The monster was hurt, and it lashed its large tail, hitting Belamis space bike. Belamis fell to the ground.

"Arh...." Belamis moaned in pain, and she struggled up. There she saw the monster was heading to the small child she just rescued. Belamis ran forward, shooting EM-bullets, the monster turned back, then raised its foot and stomped on Belamis.

Belamis narrowly escaped, and fought back with her sword shooting EM-bullets. Then Belamis leaped up and poked the monster at one of it eyes, the monster hit her with its front paw, sending Belamis crashing to the ground.

"Arh...." Belamis struggled to stand up, and the monster stomped on her, crushing Belamis with its great weight.

Dr. Kitty arrived and saw Belamis was under the onslaught.... "Why isn't she transforming to the giantess form ?" Then the monster turned to Dr. Kitty

Belamis saw that, and thought ."No!!" She struggled up, and shot another EM-thunder at the monster, drawing its attention to her again.

Belamis then leaped onto her jet and shot beams of laser from her jet at the monster, but the monster was tough.... Belamis leaped out of her jet and weld her sword, slicing one of the monster's hand off, the monster growled in pain, turned and left the scene.

Belamis stood, breathing heavily. She looked at Dr. Kitty and saw Dr. Kitty was safe, so she breathed sign of relief.

Belamis then went and found the small child she saved. Belamis took her helmet off, then removed her cloak and the blanket covering the child.

There a face of a young girl, around early teens, appeared, looking back at Belamis.

"Medona...???" Belamis gasped. The young girl looked very much like her best friend back at planet Gariusu.

Medona and Belamis grew up together. They attended same schools, played together. Belamis was always the stronger one who protected Medona, and Medona was the tender on that comforted Belamis when she was troubled.

All those memories flashed back at Belamis.

Belamis hold back her emotions, and she knelt down, so that she and the girl was eye level. The girl looked at Belamis, eyes filled with kindness.

"What's you name...?" Belamis asked.

The girl opened her lips, but no sound came out of it. She was mute.

Belamis looked at her, and said, "It is OK... we are safe now.."

The girl took Belamis right hand, and wrote on her palm the sound of her name.

"Me..do... ra..." Belamis read... and thought..."sounds so much like Medona..." Her eyes welled up in tears.

The girl reached out her hands and touched Belamis face, feeling with her finger tips Belamis' eyebrows, nose, hair and face.

Belamis thought, "She was also blind..."

Then Belamis heard a sound in her mind, "Don't cry... Belamis..."

"You... you are telepathic ?" Belamis said. Medora nodded. Medora reached out both of her hands and placed them at the side of Belamis head.

Then Belamis felt everything around her vanished, and a scene was projected in her head. She saw Medora's childhood, her father died a long time ago, and Medora was with her mother... they lived together... and her mother was killed by the monsters just not long ago. When Medora's mother died, she was there hearing what happened. Medora lost her eyesight from that attack.

"Medora..." Belamis looked at her. Then Belamis saw tears rolled out of Medora's eyes.

Belamis looked at Medora, gently hugged her.

"Come.... I will protect you..." Belamis stood up, and hold Medora's hand. In Belamis mind she vowed she would protect this girl from any harm.

Belamis took Medora back to the research facilities. "Dr. Kitty... this girl is an orphan... can we take her in and .... care for her ?" Belamis asked.

"No problem..." Dr. Kitty kindly remarked.

Medora then lived in the research facilities, with Belamis taking care of her, because she was blind.

"Belamis... it is strange.... why didn't you transform ?" Dr. Kitty asked.

"...transform ?" Belamis replied.

"The previous attack by the monster... you are clearly in danger... and people around you.. me are also in danger... but strangely ... you did not transform to your giantess form..." Dr. Kitty said.

Belamis recalled, and noticed it too. "I... I don't know...."

Then Dr. Kitty hit upon an explanation, and she thought, "... is it that Belamis is resisting the transformation ?"

Dr. Kitty and assistant professor Dodge discussed.

"You mean.. Belamis is having a mental block ?" Dr. Kitty asked.

"It is not uncommon at all... if you say that Belamis blamed herself for the death of the old Queen..." Replied assistant professor Dodge.

"She is rejecting her identity as the Gariusu giantess... because being the Gariusu giantess, caused the old Queen to give her life to Belamis... " Dr. Kitty slowly said.

"This is a highly plausible explanation... from what Princess Aurora told us, Belamis was deeply traumatized ...." Said Assistant Professor Dodge.

Medora lived at the research facilities, and she tried to familiarize herself with the place by feeling her way around, with Belamis holding her hand.

Belamis took her around, and gently explaining to her the places.

"This is the main control room, this is the way out...." Belamis spoke to Medora gently, holding her hand.

Medora clung onto Belamis arms, like a girl in love with a man.

Dr. Kitty noticed it, and thought, "...she is in love with Belamis...she thought Belamis was a man..."

Indeed Belamis was very handsome, and her dark eyebrows made her look masculine, and her deep voice sometimes made it hard for others to tell if she's a woman, like that time when Kugo first encounter her.

Medora spent a lot of time with Belamis, admiring her, and in her mind she thought Belamis was her hero, her knight in shiny armor.

At the same time, Belamis projected her love to Medona, her best friend onto Medora... subconsciously redeeming herself from the sadness of losing Medona, but she did not know that Medora had other feelings.

This day everything appeared normal, when alarm sounded at the research facilities.

"Monster!!!" Belamis put on her fighting suit... "Stay with the others!! " Belamis said to Medora as she headed out. Medora was left alone, and she felt her way to the main control room, where Dr. Kitty was monitoring the battle.

It was two large monsters, one was the large T-rex like dinosaur, one was like a large lizard. Belamis leaped onto her space bike and began attacking them.

Dr. Kitty watched anxiously at the screens, showing Belamis fighting a difficult battle... the monsters clearly had more fire power, and Belamis' attack from her sword was not deterring them a bit. Medora heard everything, and tried to imagine Belamis' situation.

Medora could not see a thing, she was worried and she clutched her hands.

Belamis fought with all her might... and began to think..."No.. cannot use space sword... it was too destructive... and could also destroy the downtown area..." Her weapons were no use to them

Then the lizard tongue caught Belamis and wrapped her up. The giant lizard then spitted poisonous saliva at Belamis and hit her eyes.

"Arhh..." Instantly Belamis eyes were burnt by the corrosive fluid and could not see.

Belamis was thrown to the ground. The large dinosaur stomped on her again and again.

"Belamis!!" Dr. Kitty yelled. The monster left Belamis behind.... a large deep hole was left by the dinosaur, after repeated stomping, Belamis was there motionless.

The two monsters headed to the research facilities.

Dr. Kitty exclaimed, "Belamis' eyes were hurt... she was attacked at all sides and could not fight back!!"

Medora heard what Dr. Kitty said, and silently she felt her way out. She said to herself, "I...I have to help Belamis."

Belamis tried to walk to the research facilities even though she couldn't see a thing. Then in her heart she thought she heard Medora's cry again.

"Belamis!"

"Medora... Dr. Kitty..." Belamis thought.... yet she was unable to transform.

"My goodness... Belamis could not transform...." Thought Dr. Kitty....

Medora went out in tears, shaking as she listened to the explosions and Belamis yelling.

"Belamis... hang on!!!" Medora telepathy sent a distress call to Belamis.

"Medora..." Belamis walked, but then the large lizard spilled out flames and Belamis was engulfed in the fire.

Then suddenly, the scepter moved, breaking through the glass cupboard and landed into the hands of Medora.

"What's happening?" Dr. Kitty was astonished.

The scepter's gem was glowing, and Medora was holding it, totally confused. She only felt that there was a small short stick in her hands.

Then there was a thought appearing in Medora's mind, "The girl with Galaxy Energy, raise the scepter!"

Medora, without a second thought, hold the scepter up. A ray of light shot out from the scepter, hitting Belamis forehead and then she immediately transformed into the giantess.

Belamis roared, and flexed her muscles. Yet she couldn't see a thing. She reached out her hands, tried to feel her way forward.

Medora was blind for a long time and could use her hearing as her sight, she recognized the footsteps of Belamis, and the sound of the monster, and thus she could tell their relative positions.

"Belamis, watch your right side!" Medora telepathy voice said to Belamis.

Belamis immediately ducked, narrowing escaping the lashing by the monster's tail.

"Your left!!!" Again Medora again used her hearing to judge the position of the monster and Belamis, and used her telepathy voice to guide Belamis.

Belamis then took a deep breath... she remembered a few times she trained blindfolded with her master Nia. She listened and felt the air around her with her body....

The dinosaur spitted out flames on her, Belamis leaped and landed at the back of the monster, then she kicked the monster. Medora then guide Belamis, "The lizard is at the front left of you..."

Belamis lifted the dinosaur and threw it to the giant lizard. The giant lizard suddenly sprang forward and sank its teeth on Belamis right shoulder. Belamis struggled with it, and pulled open its jaws, the dinosaur then slashed Belamis back with its claws, and bit Belamis left shoulder. The two monsters were using their teeth and claws on Belamis, causing multiple injuries over her.

Yet Belamis was unafraid, she threw the dinosaur onto the ground, and then pulled the lizard's tongue apart. As the large dinosaur charged Belamis, Belamis heard the sound, and leaped up, then cut the dinosaur's head with her hand chop, and then she picked up the lizard, and pulled its jaws open, tearing it apart.

Belamis defeated the monsters, and was seriously wounded. She turned, as she was guided by Medora telepathy, "Belamis... we are here.... turn to your left..."

Belamis walked slowly, knelt down, and reached her right hand to the ground as Medora felt her way forward, until she touched Belamis right hand.

Belamis gently touched Medora. Medora hold up the scepter, and a beam shot at Belamis forehead, and she turned back to human size. She hugged Medora.

Medora was crying, as she moved her hands over Belamis muscular body. She did not touch Belamis breasts, all she could feel was a strong body, like a man. She rested her head against Belamis chest.

Belamis breathed heavily, and carried Medora in her arms, and said, "It's all OK..."

Belamis was lying on the bed, with bandages all on her body, and on her eyes.

"Her eyes were only slightly burnt by the monster's venom. There's no permanent damage... the bandages on her eyes could be taken off in one or two weeks. "Said Dr. Kitty.

Dr. Kitty saw what happened, especially how Medora used the scepter to cause Belamis to transform.

Belamis murmured, "Medora..." Medora held Belamis hands. Belamis stroked her hair, and gently said, "don't worry... I am OK.."

"Why did I transform ?" Belamis asked.

"Medora did it.. .with the scepter..." Dr. Kitty replied.

"The scepter ?" Belamis was astonished.

Belamis realized there were implications. Only a person with Galaxy Energy could use the scepter, the old Queen was one, Princess Aurora was another.

After several days of examining Medora, Dr. Kitty said to Belamis, "Medora is an unusual girl. She has telepathy powers, and moreover... she is like Princess Aurora.... she could emit and amply Galaxy Energy like her..."

"Medora...." Belamis remarked.

"...and like the old Queen and also Princess Aurora, she has the power to use the scepter ... to summon the Gariusu giantess... so that day... she hold the scepter at you, and you transformed..." Continued Dr. Kitty.

"... you.. subconsciously refuse to change to your giantess form.. so even the control unit inside your head is not blocking you.. you still do not transform..." Dr. Kitty said.

Belamis laid on the bed, and said, "..... I... I .... cannot live with this identity as the Gariusu giantess... because of this... the old Queen died for me...". Belamis was saddened as she spoke.

Dr. Kitty said, "... yet ... Galaxy Energy, Earth... your loved ones needed your protection... and Medora needed your protection... she could well be the next queen at the Great Planet...."

Belamis was in deep thought, "Medora.... "

Belamis injuries healed gradually, but she still had bandages over her eyes. Belamis hated to stay in bed, and she struggled to get out. Medora held her hand.

"It's OK... can you just hold my hand and lead the way for me..." Belamis asked. Medora nodded, and then helped Belamis up.

Belamis smiled, "Though you are blind, but you now can lead me because you are used to find your way in total blindness here..."

"I must recover soon..." Belamis thought.

Medora lead Belamis to the open, and let Belamis felt the fresh air.

"Medora...." Belamis spoke slowly..."I will protect you.... like I protect Dr. Kitty... but I must overcome my mental block of not able to transform..."

To Belamis, it was strange feeling - now like the old Queen, Medora had the ability to use the scepter on her. In a way she was now like the old Queen and Princess Aurora. Yet in a strange way, Medora was vulnerable, and in Belamis' heart she was like her own little sister.

Medora affection to Belamis increased, as she hold Belamis hand tight.

"Medora... please... don't use the scepter to transform me..." Belamis said.

Medora gasped, she knew if Belamis could not transform she would be killed.

"I have to overcome this.... and when I hear you cry for help...calling me... I will be there for you...I promise..." Belamis said.

Medora wept, and little did she know that her love to Belamis would not be reciprocated.
