Chapter 10 A dangerous voyage out beyond the galaxy
Belamis worked round the clock analyzing all data she got about the Gorlintor star system. Dr. Kitty and Assistant Professor Dodge of course was on this, but Belamis was particularly concerned.
"You have not rested for several days..." Dr. Kitty gently spoke to Belamis.
"I can continue...." Belamis said.
"You may need some air to refresh yourself... or just lying down can also help..." Dr. Kitty said.
"Kugo was back on Earth again..." Assistant Professor Dodge said.
"Why not you go to the base and meet him when he arrived ?" Dr. Kitty remarked.
There at the base, Kugo's Star Probe landed, Kugo in his fighting suit emerged, and he was happy to see Belamis there.
The pair hold hands..."I missed you dearly..."
Belamis said, "Me too..."
"Let us find some place, sit down and talk!" Kugo said.
They walked to a cafe, and sat down.
"You have something in your mind...Belamis..."
"I am thinking about those aliens..." She said.
"I know you worried that they harm Dr. Kitty..." Kugo replied.
Belamis nodded, "We know so little about them....who they are, what weapons they use, where they are now..."
Then Belamis' cell phone sounded... A text message from the lab "the results are out..." Belamis said..."Let's head back!!!"
"Damn... another romantic afternoon ruined..." Kugo remarked as he followed.
They were at the research lab, and Professor Dodge and Dr. Kitty were looking at a screen. They contained the analysis results, from the data which Belamis' jet collected when she rescued Dr. Kitty.
"What was that ? " Kugo asked.
"A very very complicated artificial structure..." Dr. Kitty remarked... "We finally deciphered the data Belamis brought back.."
Belamis looked and said, "It's a ...it's a... battle star..."
"Battle star...?" Kugo asked...
"There are defense systems, weapon systems..." Belamis pointed at the screen to different parts...
"I studied these kind of engineering before..."
Dr. Kitty, "This battle star... is twice the size of our moon...and it's capable of wiping out any planet in our Solar System...judging from its systems and its energy core.."
The Galaxy Union is at an urgent meeting discussing the latest information. All forces were on full alert, where Belamis, Kugo, Djorgo and Loken, and many cyborgs were called to assemble.
"I smell something bad..." Loken said.
General Kahn emerged from the meeting.
"All of you....have to be on standby and ready to be deployed to different missions...."
The cyborgs, a total 50 of them looked at each other.
"We need to assemble a team of cyborgs, and a space fleet, to target the battle star...and also their fleet..." General Kahn said.
"That battle star would be heavily guarded. They will also target the source of the Galaxy Energy...." General Kahan continued....
"Princess Aurora.!!!" Belamis and Kugo exclaimed...
"Belamis..., you will be the one to escort the Princess to our safe point of shelter.....where she would be protected" General Kahn commanded. “While our main forces will be deployed to hold back the battle star as far as we can. Once the Princess is in safety, we will regroup before we launch an offensive ... meanwhile we have to patrol the section of Mars at the asteroid belt..."
"Me...?" Belamis said...
After the meeting, Kugo and Belamis walked together.
"You would be there to hold back the battle star..... we cannot fight alongside..." Belamis said.
"..and you will protect Princess." Kugo said.
"...I don't know what to make of that..." Belamis replied.
"What do you mean ?"
"After what I did..." Belamis recalled her hostility to her..
"..That was when you were confused... Princess Aurora was never angry with you..." Kugo replied.
"Not for me..." Belamis replied.
"Do you know....we made a "tomb" for you at the Great Planet after we thought you died..." Kugo said.
"What ?"
"Princess paid a visit every month and put flowers on that tomb... she cared about you too....." Kugo said.
Belamis was silent.
On her space fighter, Belamis was steering at full speed to the rendezvous point with Queen Cosmos, so that she could take Princess Aurora to a safe shelter, away from Gorlintor threat.
So far no signs of trouble near the Great Planet, so Belamis went alone.
Belamis heart was in conflict, she was guild ridden....
Then she saw in her transmitter a "May-Day" call ....
"It was from the Great Planet!!" Belamis exclaimed, she accelerated her jet, and by the time she was there, there were fighters attacking, explosions everywhere.
Belamis fired from her jet and shot down the fighters, and she landed near the Palace, and ran to it.
"Princess!!" She yelled, as she entered the palace.
"Belamis ??!!" Princess Aurora was surprised to see her.
Belamis looked at her, in her helmet with shades down. "Come....get out of here! it's dangerous here!"
The Princess followed behind Belamis.
As soon as they exit the palace, the enemy forces already landed, with weapons aiming at the Princess.
"Take cover!!" Belamis shouted and pulled her electromagnetic sword, and started to fight.
The Princess peeked as she hid behind a shelter. "She was as tough a fighter as before..." She recalled her toughness before monsters.. and of course her "sacrifice".
Then a number of fighters surrounded Belamis, with weapons like tridents, spears and swords, welding at her.
Belamis gazed fearlessly, "I can take on 100 of you !!"
There was a fierce fight, with Belamis using her skills with her sword. The Princess watched her fought gracefully and in style...."..if Belamis was man, I think I will fall for her...." She knew Belamis was beautiful, but seldom able to see at close up how she fought in such a cool and glamorous style.
Soon, Belamis welded her sword and struck down all of the enemies except one with a long spear.
"Hahaha, I will pin you with this." He exclaimed.
"Not so easy!" Belamis replied, with an air of confidence.
They charged each other, and then the enemy fighter aimed his spear to Belamis. The two crossed each other, and Belamis sword cut him into two.
Belamis put her sword into the sheath, and approached the Princess, "Come..we must go..", she spoke calmly, almost no emotion.
The two boarded Queen Cosmos, where Belamis docked her jet.
They started the engine, and Queen Cosmos was air borne.
"We are safe now..." The Princess said.
Belamis watched, and nodded.
"Stay here." Belamis told the Princess, and she left the cockpit, not looking at her.
The Princess watched her leave. "Belamis.....why is she so cold to me..?" Princess Aurora remembered initially she was full of anger, unapproachable, and tough, yet she noticed behind the shades a pair eyes with compassion.
"She only put up her tough outlook...but inside her she is a kind person..." As she recalled how Belamis ran with her, supposed to "capture" her, the spark of gentleness Belamis displayed and how she shielded her.
"She hide her feelings and emotions to others..."
She steered the Queen Cosmos, and turned on auto-pilot.
"Let me check out other things." The Princess thought to herself. She exit the cockpit, and there Belamis was on the floor, shaking.
"Belamis!!!" She hurried, and she pushed aside her cape, and saw under it, Belamis' left shoulder had a section of spear pierced through... Belamis was wounded.
"Belamis!!!" The Princess exclaimed, and she took Belamis' helmet off.
There Belamis was in pain, her eyes and face told it all, her eyes were warm ...she didn't want the Princess to know she was wounded.
"It's OK..." Belamis replied. "Just help me to the sick room....."
The Princess helped Belamis to stand up, and headed to the sick room.
There Belamis sat on the bed, and she took her suit off, exposing her naked body.
The Princess gasped, as she saw the scars on her body -- her chest, shoulders, arms ...all over.
Belamis looked at her, and said calmly, "There's a box on my jet... Dr. Kitty prepared it for treating my wounds......please get it for me..."
"OK...you wait for me..."
Princess Aurora headed to Belamis' jet, and found the box.
She took the box to the sick room. Belamis shoulder had a section of the spear poked through.
"The blue bottle...is for treating wounds..." Belamis said.
Aurora took it out.
"I will pull the spearhead out...and you apply the wound paste, seal the wound to stop the bleeding.." Belamis said to the Princess.
The Princess watched, and was shaken to see Belamis did this.
Belamis grab the spear head with her right hand, and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes, and pulled the spearhead out. Immediately blood was streaming.. Belamis was shaking in pain.
The Princess put the wound paste on the Belamis' open wound, sealing it.
"Do you need pain killers..." Princess Aurora said.
"Those pain killers won't work..." Belamis replied..."..it's OK." Again in a cool voice, trying to hide her pains.
"Let me put some bandages on it..." The Princess said.
Belamis looked at her. "I know first aid and can bandage the wound......" The Princess said.
Belamis nodded. The Princess put bandages on Belamis wound, and it was secure.
As Aurora applied the bandage, she took a very close look at Belamis. Her body was strong, though slender, but those scars on her body made her uneasy.
"Thank you." Belamis said, looking the Princess at her eyes.
Then Belamis looked the other way, looking at the floor, and said, "...and sorry for all I did to you." She continued.
The Princess looked at Belamis, and into her eyes.
".... I was never angry at you.... I saw inside you a kind soul....."
"...now I began to understand why Kugo has a crush on you...." The Princess said.
"...and I must thank you.." The Princess replied.
"For what ?"
"You protected Dr. Kitty, even risking your own life....Dr. Kitty told me all that..."
Belamis nodded her head, she looked at the bandages, and gaze at the Princess -- her eyes was shimmering.
Belamis then put back her suit on.
"You must rest....your are seriously wounded...." The Princess exclaimed.
"It's okay for me... I am more comfortable in these..." Belamis replied. "Besides, I am assigned the to protect you.... as a soldier I must accomplish it....and we are not safe yet...." She and the Princess headed back to the cockpit.
Belamis was at the pilot seat.
"You need to rest..." The Princess said.
"I will just rest my eyes here...." Belamis remarked, "...I can stay awake for countless days without rest..."
Then an alarm sounded.
"Enemies' fighters...!!!" Belamis exclaimed.... she stood up and put on her helmet, "you steer Queen Cosmos... and I will drive those fighters away and cover you..."
"No...your wound!!" The Princess said...but Belamis already stormed out and steered her jet, charging the enemy fighters.
Belamis shot those fighters down one by one, then two larger space cruisers appeared, and worse, a space storm was coming up.
They were caught in the space storm.
"I have to land the Queen Cosmos.....the systems are sounding alarms!" The Princess called.
Belamis nodded, and cover Queen Cosmos, as they headed to a desolate asteroid.
"I am loosing control!!! The engines of Queen Cosmos failed...the systems failed...." The Princess exclaimed.
"Damn...." Belamis said. She steered her jet and went after Queen Cosmos, as it flew down the asteroid, waving on its sides, as it was not under control.
"Try to stabilize it!!!" Belamis exclaimed, as she accelerated her jet to be in front of Queen Cosmos.
"I am trying..." The Princess yelled.... Queen Cosmos touched down, but still racing ahead in high speed.."I cannot stop it!!!!!!!!!!!" The Princess screamed.
Belamis jumped out of her jet, and stood in front of the fore landing gear of Queen Cosmos...
"Belamis...." The Princess exclaimed.
Belamis raised her arms, and as the lander gear hit her, she pushed... trying to stop it...
"Belamis...." The Princess thought..."She's trying to stop Queen Cosmos just with her own bare hands..."
Belamis' body collided with the landing gear, and hit her left shoulder ...where it was wounded..
Belamis clutched her teeth in pain...the wound was hurting...
Belamis pushed with all her strength, trying to stop the Queen Cosmos...but the speed was too great...
Belamis glanced back, and saw a deep valley ahead of the Queen Cosmos...If it was not stopped, it would crash....her wound was hurting more and more..
"No......." Belamis thought, trying with all her strength...
The Princess gazed anxiously as the Queen Cosmos was about to fall over and plunge to a deep valley, and it slowed down, then halted..the inertia of the ship send the Princess knocking herself at the controls...she was unconscious.
Belamis managed to stop the craft, but that exertion tore open her wound, and she was shaking in pain, and she fell on her knees...
Then suddenly the enemy space cruisers appeared, Belamis struggled to get up...braving her pains...and leaped to her jet, and fighting the space cruiser.
Indeed her jet was much improved, she fired missiles from it, hitting the cruisers, one was damaged and turned back. Belamis leaped out from the jet and pulled her sword, and targeted the other, as she energized her sword, she severed the cannons off the other cruiser, disarming it.
The two cruiser turned away.
Belamis landed back on her jet and docked on Queen Cosmos.
Belamis was in her jet, and she struggled as she climbed out... her wounds were hurting...
She got out of the jet, and walked slowly to the cockpit. There the Princess was knocked unconscious, Belamis helped her up and sat her on the seat.
Gradually the Princess regained consciousness, and she saw Belamis face.
"We have landed...we are safe for just now.." Belamis replied, still in her helmet.
The Princess was sensitive, she saw Belamis was shaking a bit, trying to withstand the pain.
"How's you wound on your left shoulder ?"
Belamis looked at the Princess, and heard the tone of concern in her.
"Princess Aurora... just change the bandages, put on new ones... and secure the wounds..." Belamis said and reached for another bottle in the kit for treating her wounds.."apply these on me...seal the wound..." She said, as she took of her helmet and suit...exposing her body, and the bandages soaked with blood....
"but...." Aurora replied.
".....just apply the paste and seal my wound......the enemies will come anytime...we cannot waste another minute..." Belamis replied, looking at Aurora's eyes.
Aurora applied the wound sealing paste, and bandage her again, discarding the blood stained bandages.
"She has not changed a bit..." Aurora thought..."as stubborn and insistent as before......and tough like a man.."
Princess Aurora, "...let me help you to the sick room..."
"No....I will sit at the cockpit.." Belamis said.
"....but your wounds..."
"I must stay here .....the space cruisers I just hit know that we are stranded here, and they will return with reinforcement.. you must call the Galaxy Union to ask for back up.....I alone cannot hold them back......I have to think of a way to deal with the enemies before our back up comes."
The Princess nodded, and called the Galaxy Union forces, which were heading towards them.
"ETA 3 hours at least...." The other end replied.
Belamis listened, and knew 3 hours was a dangerously long time. They thought they could get the Princess out of danger, but the enemy forces arrived early, and caught them off guard, with only Belamis guarding the Princess.
"We have to make it through this three hours... survive the attacks if they were to come..." Belamis said.
Belamis grab the controls, and checked the sensors, so far nothing seemed to be around. She pushed the thrust control, trying to launch Queen Cosmos. However after the space storm, many of the systems were down. The main engine's energy level was low, and needed time to recharge.
She put on her helmet and cape, and stood up, holding her sword.
"No...Belamis...." The Princess said...
"...I have to do it...that's my duty as a soldier...."
"Queen Cosmos has no weapons and defense systems....." Belamis said, "...now I am the only defense here..."
Belamis said calmly before she put her shades down.
She gazed out the main window..the Princess saw a pair of eyes behind the shades, full of determination and courage.
"Belamis...."
"Stay here, and prepare to launch Queen Cosmos once its' engine is fully charged..it will take another 20 minutes.....while I go out and patrol..." Belamis said as she glanced back.
"Belamis!" Aurora called her..
Belamis stopped at the door and looked back, their eyes met.
"...be careful.." Aurora said.
Belamis nodded.
Belamis headed to her jet, gracefully jumped to the seat, and launched her fighter jet.
She flew around Queen Cosmos to check and then patrol around the asteroid where they landed.
"10 minutes left before Queen Cosmos can take off..." Belamis was timing, and watch anxiously...
The alarm sounded....
"Such bad timing!!!"
There were swarms of fighter and the leading space cruiser coming.
"I cannot defend it alone... Queen Cosmos is such a conspicuous target...they can track us down..." Belamis wondered. Then she hit on an idea.
Belamis targeted the guns on her jet and began shooting down the enemy jets.
Suddenly Queen Cosmos launched.... Belamis steered her jet and covered it...holding back the enemy fighters. Then she fired missiles to the cruisers, and she leaped out with her sword, cutting other jets into two.
"Princess Aurora!!! Use warp flight and get out!!!"
Queen Cosmos went into warp drive and disappeared...into perhaps several hundred thousand miles away...
The enemy space cruiser and fighters were confused, then they all headed to a direction. Belamis shot down a few of the fighters, and suddenly her jet appeared to fail and nose dive...
Inside a deep valley as Belamis' jet. Belamis did not follow, she actually landed her jet, and quickly ran to a gorge, where there's a small crack.
Princess Aurora was there ... she was NOT with Queen Cosmos.
"...good...you did exactly what I told you...using the auto-pilot and warp drive..." Belamis replied. "Now the enemies are chasing an unmanned craft, hopefully it should stall them for at least 2 hours..."
"Queen Cosmos is too big a craft to go unnoticed..... only my jet is not enough to defend it...the best way is for us to hide here and wait for help, and it is easier for me to protect you this way." Belamis said.
"Belamis...you are brilliant..." Princess Aurora remarked, as she marveled at her calmness and strategy.
"Luckily Queen Cosmos computer allow me to program it to run on auto-pilot..." Belamis remarked.
"We need to hide first...to make sure they enemies are not coming back and look" Belamis looked, the asteroid was only fully of deep rifts and gorges.
Belamis looked at the deep valley where Queen Cosmos nearly fall into.
"We can go down there..." Belamis said.
Princess Aurora said, "but...there was no path to walk down..."
Belamis took her cape off, with her helmet on, said, "I will carry you...we will jump down there..."
Princess Aurora looked ...she was afraid, but she had confidence with Belamis, so she climbed on to her back. Belamis was taller and stronger, she used her left arm to support the Princess.
"Grab my body with your arms..hold tight...close your eyes..." Belamis said.
The Princess followed her instructions.
"Let's go..." Belamis leaped from the edge of the cliff and the two plunging down the deep valley...
As the two were in free fall, Belamis pulled her sword with her free right hand, and slided the sword against the walls of the valley to create friction to slow down their fall...the friction generated sparks....
As they fall deeper and deeper....she could see clearly...and she saw there's an edge jutting out from one side, there's a small cave too.
She hit her sword at one side, so to give a push, and she landed at the edge. Belamis looked at that cave...it's a deep one....and probably they could hide there.
"It's OK now..." Belamis put down Aurora, and she opened her eyes...
"Go into the cave first....we can hide there..." Belamis took her hand and they walked in.
Belamis lead the way, carefully surveying....
Then there's a hiss sound...
"Look out...!!" Belamis yelled... there were several large serpents rushing to them.
One coiled round Belamis body, like a python, and started to tighten it's crush, and Belamis could not pull out her sword, and another one opened it's large jaws and bit Belamis left arm...
"Arh...." A third sprayed venom onto Belamis body...the venom entered her body though her arm's wound and...
"Don't come near..." Belamis yelled...
She reached for her sword....the serpent squeezed tighter and tighter...then they suddenly gave out high voltage shock...Belamis cried in pain..
"Belamis..!!!"
Belamis saw there were more coming out, she yelled.
The large one tightened its squeeze....there were sound of Belamis' muscle exerting...
"ha......arhhhhhhhh!" She yelled and struggled free with all her strength breaking the serpent squeezing her into pieces with her strength. She pulled the sword and severed the remaining ones. Another one bite her right arm...she yelled in pain as she dropped the sword, but she used her strength, pull the serpent away, and tore it apart...
"huh...arhh..." Belamis breathed heavily, and gave out groans of pain...and she fell on her knees...
"Belamis..." Aurora came to her..trying to put her hands on Belamis to help her..
"No!!! Don't touch me!!!!!!!!" Belamis shouted in a loud voice.
It startled Aurora..."Why is she pushing me away...."
Belamis looked at her...she took a breath, then spoke, "I don't mean to shout at you........it's dangerous for you to touch my body...my body is covered with snake venom...they are deadly .....it could kill you in an instant..." Her voice became gentle...."..please don't take it personally..."
"Belamis...I thought you ...I am sorry...."
"..Help me took my helmet off...." Belamis said slowly..."..my arms cannot move now...the poison is numbing my arms..." She bowed her head...Aurora took her helmet off...she saw her face ... it was gentle, her eyes full of compassion, though she was tough talking, she cared about Aurora...
"..is it OK to touch your hair and face ?" Aurora asked...
"Yes...why...?" Belamis... Aurora then gently stroke her hair, and put her hand on Belamis face...trying to comfort her...and she looked into Belamis eyes gently...
Belamis gazed back, she felt a warmth from a kind of friendship and bond between women, beyond words.
"Step back.." Belamis spoke softly....."..I have to deal with the poison......" Belamis struggled to get up, and reached for her sword.....
"What are you trying to do ??" Aurora asked as Belamis retracted the sword into a dagger form.
Belamis said nothing, and cut the wound on her left arm...opening it..
"No!!!" Aurora said.
"...this is the only way ... drain the blood around the wound and the poison there will flow out along with my blood..." as blood flowed out, dripping onto the ground....the blood was pitch black....Aurora watched...then it became bright red....
"The venom is very toxic...my body can withstand it..but not you.." Belamis remarked, as she watched her left arm bleeding...
Aurora quickly got a handkerchief out and handed it to Belamis, Belamis tied it on her left arm...tightening it...
She moved her left arm, stretching it ..."my left arm can move now..." She did the same to her right arms..where the bit wound of the serpent was, and again tied a handkerchief from Aurora on it....
She breathed heavily....and supporting herself on the wall of the cave, and sat down slowly...
"The poison on my body needed to be cleaned up.." Belamis said slowly....she looked at Aurora..."..thank you..."
Aurora sat beside her, and said, "...I saw in your eyes....are you always that tough ?"
Belamis looked at the Princess, and said, "...I grew up in a family where members served in the army... my father raised me like a boy...to be a soldier...but I only wanted to be a space explorer..."
The Princess listened.
"...I refused to join the army...and had quarrels with father...." Belamis eyes shimmered...tears were welling in her eyes...
"...mother supported me unconditionally...and sent me to the astronaut institute..."
"..but I regretted that.... if...if I joined the army earlier... I might be able to save her..." Belamis spoke, and tears rolled down her face....
It was the first time Aurora saw Belamis in tears, and talked about her mother....she moved her hands..
Belamis looked the other way..."..you don't have to dry my tears... I know you want to do it... " She looked at Aurora...her eyes beamed with a sense of thankfulness.
"I never told others this since I left my planet..." Belamis said.
Aurora looked at Belamis...she felt a bond and saw Belamis trusted her.
"First...I must clean my body of the venom...." Belamis looked around...there were no signs of water anywhere..."if its not water....." Belamis walked into the cave deeper..and there were black stones...
"They were coal..." Belamis said...
"What are you going to do...? " Aurora asked...
"Heat can clean the venom...the venom are only protein and will breakdown in heat....."
She took some coal and used her sword to start them burning...the coal were red hot..
She took her suit off, and threw it into the coal..."they were made of material resistant to heat..." Belamis continued, as she stood naked. Aurora, stood beside her, and took her scarf off, putting it round Belamis to cover her... Belamis looked, and nodded.
Aurora gazed at Belamis naked body, her scars and wound..... "Belamis..."
After 10 minutes...Belamis lift the suit out and shake it, so that it cooled down...then she put it on.
“We must keep moving...I have a terrible feeling.." Belamis said.
"Why ?"
"How could they get to the Great Planet ahead of us...?" Belamis said.
"They may have means to track you down..." She looked at the Princess.
"What ?"
"It is a plausible explanation..." Belamis spoke as they looked.
Belamis summoned her jet...another improvement... her jet flew in auto-pilot mode stop before them..
Belamis helped Aurora into it....the jet could only hold one passenger...
"Belamis...how about you...?"
"The jet will take you back to the Great Planet...I will follow behind..." Then a small bike like probe was lowered from the jet's compartment... it's a motorcycle and jet combo, the space bike was more compact than Belamis' larger fighter jet.
She rode onto the bike, and set the jet flying, and she started the bike at flying mode, with wings and jet engine on, and the wheels retracted, and she followed behind.
"She looks so cool in that bike with her helmet and cape.." Aurora looked.
"I will patrol behind.." Belamis said, as she rode on her space bike.
Then suddenly her radar picked up something..."..damn..."
Belamis looked, at least 10 enemy fighters were heading to them.
"You go first!!!" Belamis said, as she flicked a switch on her hand controls, to speed up her jet.
"Belamis!!!"
Belamis steered her space bike and headed to the enemy, and she drew her sword.
She stood on the bike, hold up her sword, and got ready to battle.
The space bike was Professor Dodge idea. Belamis' fighter was specialized in combat in air, but could not maneuver like Jan Kugo's Star Probe. So he wanted to design something for Belamis.
"I'd like a bike.." Belamis said.
"A bike ?"
"Motorbike like, I can ride on ground and steer it in air.." Belamis said.
The bike was then installed as part of her jet's accessory, capable of detaching and docking into it.
Belamis welded her sword and struck down the enemy jets one by one. Leaping up and cutting one of the jet, Belamis landed back on the bike and steer it with her left hand, and then with her right hand hold the sword, struck another jet.
The bike then shoot out energy blasts, hitting another enemy jet.
Belamis looked at her jet, it was getting away and she covered it, shooting down the remaining enemy jets.
She then steer her bike and followed.
The jet and the bike landed at the Great Planet, and Belamis helped Aurora out of her jet.
"Thank you..." Aurora replied.
"The enemy will not even think that we dare to go back to the Great Planet.." Belamis said, "and you can hide here..."
"I must use a secret channel to contact the Galaxy Union..." Belamis said, as she worked on her jet's control, and sent an code message back to the Galaxy Union.
"Come in and take a rest... Belamis.." Aurora said.
Belamis looked and checked, and said, "Okay."
Belamis sat down and took her helmet off, and signed... and she messaged her shoulder..her wound was still hurting.
Aurora came out with towels, and said, "you can wash yourself with these.... it will be more comfortable.."
Belamis took the towels and looked at her.
Belamis took a quick shower, washing herself, and took the bandages off, exposing the wound.
Then she wrapped herself in a towel and walked out, and there Aurora was waiting with bandages, cotton wool and medication.
"I will bandage those wounds..."
Belamis sat down, and Aurora carefully tended her wounds -- her arms and her left shoulder.
As Aurora tended Belamis wounds, she took a good look at her.
"You are really beautiful..." Aurora said.
"eh ?..."
"You have beautiful black and fine hair.... blue eyes, long eye lashes... and fair skin... and you are strong too... I knew Kugo fell in love with you the very moment he met you..... he loved you..."
Belamis listened, as Aurora told her how Kugo wept twice for her when he thought she died, and even quarreled with Aurora and Hakkah over her.
"You and Kugo ...are made for each other... Kugo and I are like siblings who cared for each other, but he loved you..." Aurora said.
"Kugo is hot-headed, kind, brave and worked on his hunches... you are calm, compassionate, brave and clever... you compliment each other well..." Aurora said as she carefully put on bandages on Belamis.
"Every moment with Kugo.... is heavenly to me.." Belamis said, as she smiled.
Aurora looked at her, and saw Belamis eyes beaming.
"You and Kugo are made for each other... even death cannot separate you...." Aurora continued, gently tended her hair. Belamis looked at her bandaged shoulder, and said, "Thank you."
Belamis watched, and felt a warmth... she finally made up with Aurora.
"We have to be ready to leave at any time.." Belamis said.
Then suddenly the transmitter sounded......
"The Galaxy Union's reinforcement..." Belamis said.
"Belamis..." It's Kugo at the other end.
"Kugo..." Belamis smiled, and said, "We hear you loud and clear..."
"We found Queen Cosmos by itself, and got you message..." Djorgo said, "We will come as quickly as we can..."
"Belamis, ..take care.." Kugo said "Princess, please stay put..." Then he signed off.
Belamis looked at the Princess and said, "We will be safe, help is arriving....."
Then suddenly there were explosions...
"Enemies !!!" Belamis stood up, and rush to her jet. "You go down to the shelter and hide!!"
She started her jet and flew out... there they were... swarms of fighters and a large space cruise.
Belamis looked at that large cruiser, and flew her jet to it..
"This is the commanding vessel.... destroying or damaging it will cause the fighters to retreat..."
She shot down the enemy fighters and launched a missile to the cruiser...the missile hit one of the cruiser's canons.
Belamis then turned and shot down more jets....
Then help arrived.... Kugo and Djorgo's probe.
"Belamis... we are here !!!" Kugo yelled.
They fired at the jets, shooting down many of them.
Belamis smiled and breathed a sign of relief.
The enemies were driven away.

Soon the company were in Queen Cosmos.
"Your idea is brilliant..." Djorgo said, "... using the computer on your jet to remote control Queen Cosmos.."
Belamis was at the pilot seat, steering Queen Cosmos.
"Belamis is a fine pilot..." Kugo smiled.
"You are tired..., let me take turn and pilot it..." Djorgo said.
"Thank you." Belamis stood up and let him sat on the pilot seat, and Belamis looked at Kugo.
This was the second time both spent time together on the same craft...they remembered the first time, and looked at each other.
"Belamis...you need rest..." Kugo said.
The two left the cockpit.
Belamis was given a room in Queen Cosmos, and Kugo another. Kugo knocked at the door.
"Can I come in ?"
"Yes.."
Belamis took her suit off, and only in a white vest and tight pants.
Kugo armor was off too, in uniform.
Kugo sat beside Belamis, and looked at her wound at her shoulder...
"The wound would heal..." Belamis said.
"I am worried about you, you know..." Kugo said.
Belamis looked at him, and said, "You know my character...."
Kugo said, "..that makes me worry even more..."
He touched Belamis hair....then put his hand on Belamis shoulder...and gently kissed her.
Belamis closed her eyes, and let Kugo hold her.... she needed the hug of her lover.
"This will be the first time we travel in space together..." Kugo said.
"Our craft will head to the safe haven where Princess Aurora will stay." Kugo said, "This will be a journey of a few weeks."

Two guys and two girls in the same craft....
Belamis shared the bathroom with Aurora, and Aurora gave her the girl stuffs to use. They get along with each other well.
Belamis talked less, appeared aloof, but Aurora liked her, and she would be with Belamis at the cockpit while the guys rested. They would not talk but when Belamis took a nap, Aurora would put a quilt on her...though Belamis did not need it.... Aurora also took care of Belamis wounds...and after a week they were healed...
At bedtime, Belamis would chat with Kugo, keeping their voices down until late.....sometimes they would walk out the craft and both lied down on the bridge... gazing at the starry heavens...where Belamis fell asleep in Kugo's arms.
Aurora watched the pair, and smiled. She was happy that Belamis found her love.
Alarm sounded....
All the cyborgs assembled...
"I'll take a look" Belamis said, as she got to her jet and went out, where Kugo followed her.
There's a strange light before them...
Djorgo and Aurora watched...
Then there's a strange being emerged from a space craft.
Belamis drew her sword as she stood on her jet and approached, as Kugo followed behind in his probe.
Djorgo and Aurora watched from the cockpit.
"I am here to get Princess Aurora..." That being has a female voice, and said arrogantly.
Belamis approached, and ready to fight.
"So you are the cyborg that is constantly getting into our way..." The female being smiled... she had tentacles like projects behind her back.
Belamis drew her sword...
The being laughed...then suddenly a bright light shone towards Belamis and Kugo.
"Arh..." The light was blinding... then when the light dimmed out, Belamis was before the being, she suddenly stopped...
"What is it ?" Kugo yelled.
Belamis looked stunned... and she stopped her jet at midair, holding her sword.
"Djorgo!!! Check out what happened..."
"...there's...there's a kind of energy surrounding Belamis... " Djorgo said, as he quickly thumbled on the computer..."...no!!!! Kugo, call Belamis to get out of there!!!"
"Belamis!!! Get out of there...!!!"
"Too late...." The female being said...
Belamis was trapped in it, it was a field that projected images to her mind...
Belamis saw something that trigger her emotions..
"No.... it cannot be true..." She shaked... She raised her shades, and looked, and then she was shaking..
Then images of Belamis' childhood with her mother appeared.... the happy days when Belamis as a child was playing, and loved by her mother....
Belamis fell on her knees....."ma ma..." She murmured.
"Belamis!!! "Kugo yelled, "Get out of it!!!" But Belamis could not hear him... the image projections were so strong.
Kugo watched, and he saw Belamis eyes were welling up in tears.
"What is it they are projecting to her mind!!!???" Kugo yelled.
"...damn... they.... they can locate in the mind the person's weak spot.... they are projecting Belamis loved ones to her..." Djorgo said.
"No!!!!!! They are trying to trap Belamis!!!!" Kugo yelled, and she saw Belamis put back her sword.
Belamis thought she saw her dead mother, waving at her, and opening her arms.
"Mother..." Belamis eyes welled up in tears... this was her weak and soft spot in her heart, and she let down all her guards, and put away her sword...and let go of her sword, hands at her side...
Then Belamis lost her suit.... naked, and unarmed....
"Her scars...." Aurora looked at Belamis, who was naked.... showing a body with scars...
"Belamis!!! Run!!!" Kugo yelled as he female being laughed.
"She cannot hear you.... she is now trapped in the illusion field, and we can manipulate her mind at will!!"
Belamis approached to what she thought was her mother, crying in tears.
"Belamis...." Aurora looked at the crying Belamis, and felt very sorry for her, "She harbored so many pains in her..."
Belamis walked to the enemy being slowly, getting closer and closer, then the tentacles fired.... shooting power energy blasts at Belamis... Belamis was hit with multiple blasts and she fell down, as she yelled in pain....
"Ma..ma..." Belamis fell to her jet, and her body shaking like a leaf; the blasts penetrated her body...blasting holes on her... and she was bleeding...she was trapped in the illusion and lost all will to fight... "....I can be with mother......I am willing to die...." She thought.
"You dirty bastards!!!!!!!!! You try to hurt Belamis with her pains and sad memories!!!" Kugo angrily yelled.
"Belamis..." Aurora was in tears as she watched Belamis being injured.....
"Kugo!!! You must get her out of that illusion trap...they will kill Belamis and Belamis would not lift her finger to resist!!!! Because she thought it was her mother!!!" Djorgo yelled.
The female being laughed... "I will make sure Belamis die with her maximum pain..in her soul and body!!!"
Belamis suddenly cried loudly... "Ma ma...!!!!!!!" She thought she saw her mother died again.
"Hahahaha" The female being laughed.
Then Belamis put her hands on her head as if there's a painful headache, and she was shaking in pain...
"Belamis..." Aurora never saw her in such pains before.
Then sharp spikes fired at Belamis, poking her...over a dozen of them pierced on Belamis' body...
“arh...." Belamis groaned in pain...
"Belamis..." Kugo was in tears..."She is being tortured at her heart and body...."
Then the female being raised the tentacles... they were boosting the energy..ready to give a powerful blast...
"Belamis!!!" Kugo rushed to Belamis. He hugged Belamis, and took his helmet off.
"Kugo...?" Belamis said. Kugo kissed her lips intensely. Immediately the lives of them together flashed in Belamis mind.
Then the tentacles fired... sending one single blast to Belamis.
"No..!!!" Kugo threw himself forward, landing before Belamis, shielded her, and took the blast... and he fell before Belamis, who struggled to stand up...
"Kugo!!!" Belamis caught him in her arms .... Kugo looked at Belamis.. he was mortally wounded...
"No...no!!!" Belamis heartached. She saw Kugo, and her love to him got her snapped out of the illusion.
"Belamis... Belamis... " Kugo struggled, and touched Belamis face..."I loved you...." and he kissed her.
At that instant, all the happy times Belamis remembered about Kugo appeared ....
She recalled the feeling of holding Kugo's hand, of Kugo holding her body, touching her, her happiest times were with Kugo, she playfully ran along with Kugo, they joked and played together... and she fell asleep in Kugo's arms.....
Kugo hold Belamis tightly, "Belamis... don't die... I'd rather I die...then you die..."
Belamis looked, and then she heard Kugo's heartbeat stopped...
Tears streamed out of Belamis eyes.... she loved Kugo extremely........and loosing him ripped her heart apart...
"Kugooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!" Belamis yelled... and her forehead star shape unit glowed...
Then Belamis muscles began to exert themselves, her muscles contracted...and pushed out all spikes...
"Belamis was transforming!!!" Aurora exclaimed... She saw that the first time.
Djorgo also wondered in awe, "What is that ?" He too saw Belamis transform the first time.
Belamis transformed into the giantess form, and she hold Kugo in her giant palms...her eyes in tears. She let out a loud wail of sorrow and grief, and tears streaming out her eyes.
"Belamis was crying..." Aurora only saw Belamis tough side, where she hide her feelings and emotions, but this time Belamis was expressing her emotions outwardly and freely.
Djorgo started to punch his handheld computer, and looked at its results, ".... Gariusu giantess ? Strong, compassionate, innocent and pure..."
He looked at Belamis, and there she was, her muscles were clearly defined, sculpted, firm and very strong.
Belamis flexed her muscles and the sound of her muscles flexing were audible.
"That was Belamis' altered ego.." Djorgo thought, as he watched her.
Then Belamis radiated energy from her body... she was using her own life force to save Kugo.
"Her emotions and feelings are totally free to express, not like the cool person I know of..." Djorgo looked, as he recalled before this, Belamis used to look tough and cool.
They saw Belamis transform and radiate the energy the first time.
"...this being looks familiar..." Djorgo said.
"..What ?...." Aurora remarked.
"..In my home planet...there were legends about space heroines...we have ancient drawings about these stories... Belamis looked exactly like that goddess like giantess in the legend which protected my planet thousands of years ago..." Djorgo continued..."..that giantess gave her life up for our ancestors."
As Belamis radiated her life energy to Kugo, Kugo gradually came back to life...Belamis life force restored Kugo.
Belamis put Kugo on her jet, and approached the female being..
Belamis suddenly put her hands on her head...and wailed in pain.
"They are trying to project the same illusion to Belamis again!! she is resisting it..." Djorgo yelled.
Belamis roared...and in tears...she was resisting the illusion that was ripping her heart apart....
Then the monster fired at her...Belamis was hit with multiple blasts and groaned in pain...
"There must be a way to stop it!!" He saw among the tentacles there was a distinct one.
"That has to be it..!!" He jumped to his probe and approached, and ready his rifle.
"...it has to work!!!" He shot at that distinct tentacle.
The illusion stopped..
Belamis then looked, and the female being transformed into a gigantic monster...lashing the tentacles at Belamis.
Belamis arms were caught in the tentacles, and the other tentacles shoot blasts at her.
Then her limbs were all caught, and the tentacles pulled, stretching her limbs....then one tentacles wrapped on her neck and started tightening...and two on her legs pulled her legs apart...trying to tear her into two.
"Arh..." Belamis shook in pain...and felt as if she would be tore apart from her lower body...
Belamis exerted her strength and pulled the tentacles off her arms, then she struggled off those on her legs, and ripped apart those on her neck.
"She was strong...." Djorgo marvelled... "..and a totally different fighting mode..." as he watched Belamis fought in her giantess form.
Belamis was angry.... she then raced to the monster, punching the monster... the monster lashed the tentacles at her...shooting sharp darts at her... Belamis chest and torso were hit and the darts poked her.
Belamis groaned pain...and then the monster shot her with multiple blasts...
Belamis was fearless to the attack..and she leaped and again kicked the monster...then she used her handchops and punches on the monster...hitting it again and again... then Belamis pulled off all the tentacles.
"Wonder if she can hear and understand me.."Djorgo thought. He flew his probe near her.
"Belamis!" He called. Belamis turned, and looked, and uttered.."Dj..jor..go"..
"She recognize me and understand me.." Djorgo thought, so he yelled, "Belamis!!! Hit the monster's large tentacle! It's the part that can destroy it!!"
Belamis in her giantess form, heard. She at the large tentacle, then she turned to Djorgo and nodded.
"She understands what I say.... her intellect is intact, except she cannot talk. Djorgo thought, as he looked at this giantess.
Belamis leaped up high and delivered a kick to the large tentacle, severing it.
The monster exploded.
Belamis picked up Kugo, and she again exerted her muscles, pushing out all the sharp darts that poked her body, and then returned to human size... carrying him in her arms.....
Djorgo arrived at Belamis' jet, where she stood with Kugo in her arms, and she was entirely naked, and body covered in blood.
"Belamis..." Djorgo looked at her, Belamis eyes were full of care to Kugo, and she said, "Let's go back..and take care of his wounds..."
"She was back to that calm demeanor again.." Djorgo thought, as he saw Belamis back in her human form again.
Belamis closed her eyes, and then invoked her suit to cover her body, then carried Kugo in her arms, entered Queen Cosmos and placed him on the bed.
Djorgo did not assist, because he knew full well that Belamis would not let him.
"Kugo!" Aurora said.
"He needed attention..." Belamis said.
"So do you..." Djorgo said.
Belamis turned, and looked at him.
"Look after him first..." Belamis said, as she carefully examined Kugo..
"I will call Dr. Kitty..." Aurora said.
Then Belamis fell onto her knees... she was also injured...but she braved the pain when she carried Kugo back.
Then she also fainted. Djorgo caught her, and carried her to a bed, thinking, "She looked so innocent and pure in the giantess form, but still brave as usual."

Belamis regained consciousness...
"So.. you wake up..." Djorgo smiled.
"You two are a heck of a pair.." as he glanced at where Kugo was lying, "your love to each other is touching...."
Kugo also regained consciousness.
"Impeccable timing... I am leaving you guys behind...you have a lot to talk.." Djorgo smiled. Then he turned to Belamis, and winked.
Dr. Kitty, "Belamis emitted a kind of energy like Galaxy Energy and that has healing powers.... she loved Kugo, and that caused Belamis to transform.....but her act would risk her life......she consumed a large part of her own life energy when she tried to save Kugo.."
Djorgo replied, "That took a toll on Belamis, and she used her will power to fight on.....after that I think she is very exhausted...so she fell into a coma for days..."
"Djorgo, please take care of things around while Kugo and Belamis recover." Dr. Kitty said.
Kugo's recovery was faster then Belamis. Belamis had used her own life force, and it took her longer to recover.
Whilst Belamis was recovering, Kugo was at her bedside. The two were by themselves in a room.
"Kugo....... When I thought I lost you.... my whole world collapsed.." Belamis said gently, as she was resting.
Kugo hold her hand, and nodded. "I know.... but I could not watch you die.....never a second time...." He recalled that fateful day of watching Belamis nearly flew to her death.
Their love was so strong that they would risk their own lives for each other.
