Chapter 63 Nearing  Gariusu - Medora's troubled heart

"We will be there tomorrow..." Nick said, as he looked at the navigational system's display.

Belamis nodded.

They were near the triplets of Gariusu, where Belamis' and Nick's respective home planets were.

"I wonder how it looks like now after nearly 3 years..." Nick said.

Belamis was silent. She witnessed her own home planet blew up. Then when she joined Queen Lacets, she remembered she woke up from a coma, and found herself in a place so much like her home.

Without knowing it then, Belamis was attached to the Planet Lacets. Then Belamis saw it blew up as she escaped in her jet.

The deaths of Queen Lacets and Sherius dealt a double blow to Belamis and that the she was distraught.

Belamis signed, and recalled all those feelings inside her.

“Hey.... let's do our thing in the good old days!" Nick said, as he noticed Belamis' face.

"What ?" Belamis asked.

Nick took Belamis out the deck, and then he laid down himself on a press-up position, and smiled, "Get on!"

Belamis smiled.

It was when they were together in the military cadet camp.

When either one of them had things in their mind that bothered them, they would do press-ups with the other sitting on the back and worked out for ten or fifteen minutes, then after some sweating they could get the thing out of their chest.

Belamis sat on Nick's back as Nick did his press-ups.

"Arrrh.... you need to loose some weight..." Nick gasped.

Belamis laughed. Nick and her were pals, and Nick could cheer her up.

"My turn..." Belamis said, and she laid herself down and began doing press-ups with Nick on her back.

Nick noticed Belamis was not talking, and just keep on doing press-ups non-stop.

Belamis was a cyborg, and this press-up was not difficult for her at all.

"Ok.. Ok tough girl...." Nick laughed, and he got off Belamis'  back, and helped her up.

Belamis breathed a long sign.

"Feel better now ?" Nick asked.

"You, Medora, Kugo and Dr. Kitty... are the ones that know me best..." Belamis said.

"You are special in a way you are like my own brother..." She continued, "as I have no siblings..."

"You are my pal... I know immediately something is bothering your mind when you twitched your eyebrows and look dazed...." Nick said, as he placed his hands on Belamis' shoulders.

Belamis sat down, with Nick behind her.

Medora saw them, and was a bit upset.

Then as Belamis stood up, Nick helped her and held her hand. Medora felt a knife cut into her heart.

Medora felt insecure at times and unsure about Nick. Nick had knew Belamis before Medora did, and they were close.

During the voyage, because only Belamis and Nick could pilot Starry Princess, they were together a lot of the times, and they fought alongside.

Medora felt left out.


Medora eyes welled up in tears and she ran to her room and sat by herself.

She could not bring herself to be angry with Belamis as she loved Belamis too, but the thought of Nick and Belamis together hurt her.

Belamis and Nick went back to the control room, and Nick said, "Hey.. we have not seen Medora ..."

"I'll get her..." Belamis said and she went to Medora's room.

Belamis knocked the door. Medora wiped her tears, and said, "Yeah..."

Belamis opened the door, and noticed Medora was acting awkwardly.

"Are you alright ?" Belamis asked tenderly, just as always.

"Yea.....I am OK... I'll go and check Idina... she might be hungry..." Medora just dashed past Belamis.

Belamis noticed something strange about Medora, but she could not figure it out.

Medora picked up Idina, and said softly, "..... Does Nick love me or does he love Belamis ...."

Idina babbled..."Me..do..ra..."

Medora smiled, "You won't understand..."

Then Medora carried Idina to the control room to get Belamis. As she entered, she saw a scene which shocked her - Nick hugged Belamis!

The two then separated, and looked at Medora.

"Idina... she...she needs feeding.." Medora stuttered, as she handed Idina to Belamis.

Belamis got hold of Idina, and looked at Medora.

"Excuse me..." Medora ran away.

"What happened ?" Belamis said.

Nick groaned, "Oouh.... my ankle ..."

They didn't hug. Belamis was helping Nick up as he had slipped and fell in the control room and sprained his ankle, so he had to be supported by Belamis.

Belamis said to Nick, "Would you excuse us..." Belamis carried Idina in her arms, and let her sucked her nipples.

Then Idina babbled, "Me...me..dor..ra.."

"What is it ?" Belamis looked at Idina's little black eyes, and stroke her short black her.

Idina could not talk, and her thoughts were still infant, so she could not communicate in telepathy with Belamis, and could only connect to Belamis' mind.

Belamis felt the mind of Idina, and said, "You mean.. .Medora is not happy ?"

Idina nodded.

Belamis closed her eyes and concentrated so she could connect deeper to Idina's mind, and then Belamis felt a sharp pain in her heart....

Idina felt Medora's pain in her heart, and transmitted that feeling to Belamis.

Belamis remembered, it was her feeling of being left out when Kugo and company were with Princess Aurora, and how she felt when Belamis believed that Kugo loved the Princess and not her.

Belamis eyes opened wide, "Medora...... she's such a fool!!! Nick loved her..." Belamis placed Idina back to her crib and said, "I will set things straight."

Belamis went out the room and tried to look for Medora.

Nick went running to her, "Medora...she's...she's missing.."

"What ?" Belamis exclaimed.

"I cannot find her anywhere in Starry Princess, and one of our craft is gone..." Nick said.

"I have to go and look for her!" Nick cried, "Please ....let me go and find her..."

"I will stay and take care of things.. you take care!" Belamis said.

Nick scrambled to his jet and flew out.

"Medora!!! Medora!!" Nick yelled on the top of his voice.

Medora ride a small craft and left Starry Princess. She could not stand to be at one place where she thought Nick loved Belamis, and she thought she could go out and have some time alone.

She tried to tell reassure herself, "No... Belamis won't love Nick...she has Kugo.. but Nick...." Medora wanted to be the only woman in Nick's heart, and the thought of Nick loving Belamis hurt her.

Belamis got to the control room and turned on the sensors.

"Nick... the sensor detected that Medora's craft was at your 2 o'clock direction... You want me to come along ? I can help to  explain things!" Belamis said.

"Belamis, not a good idea... I have to tell her myself..." Nick insisted.

"Be careful..... there might be monsters around..." Belamis replied, and realized something she said was omenous...., "Monsters again....????" She had a bad feeling in the back of her mind.

Belamis steered Starry Princess around and tried to catch up with Nick and Medora.

"Medora.... Nick loved you... I knew it..." Belamis thought.

They talked on the deck before.

"Belamis..... Medora is attractive..." Nick said.

"Of course..." Belamis replied.

"You are my long time friend.... and you knew Medora well.... but I felt...I ...I may not be up to her expectation sometimes...or I might not be good enough to give her happiness..."

"That's silly....she loved you! I can see it in her eyes..." Belamis said, "I know it when I saw her eyes... I felt the same to Kugo too..."

"Belamis.......you see... I lived at a desolate primitive planet..... a nowhere land....life is tough and hard there.... and I knew Earth is a better place... if she spends her life with me... I am afraid I cannot give her the happiness and she has to live a tough life with me......" Nick said, spreading out his hands, all covered in rough skins, all the result of hardship on his new home.

"I don't think that is going to stop her from loving you... love would look beyond all this..." Belamis reassured Nick.

"Thanks ....Pal..." Nick said, looking into Belamis eyes.

Belamis replied, "You are always my best buddy...", and she patted Nick's shoulder, "but if you mistreat her..."

"I know... I know.." Nick chuckled and relieved.

Nick swore to himself, "Medora is my love... and I am not letting her go..."

"Medora!!!" He yelled again. Then he switched on the communication box and tried to contact Medora.

Medora heard the communication box buzzer sounded, it's Nick's voice, "Medora! Can you hear me ? Do you copy???"

Medora held her hand above the answering button and hesitated.

"He's looking for me.. and sounded worry..."

"Medora... answer me please..... you are scaring the shit out of me!!" Nick voice shook.

Medora pressed the button, and said, "Nick...." She cried.

Nick heard Medora's voice and yelled, "Medora! " Then as he flew his jet near Medora's craft, he waved hands!

Medora was happy, and she blushed. Then Medora screamed.

Behind Nick's jet was several flying monsters.

"Holy shit!!!" Nick yelled, "Medora, get out of here now!"

Medora tried to drive her small craft away, but one flying monster caught up.

Medora screamed.

Nick fired at the monster, but he was exposed, and one monster attacked his jet, and the energy burst hit the jet's stabilizer. His jet shook.

"Aarh..." Nick yelled, but he managed to steer his jet and shot another monster.

"Run!!!" Nick yelled.

Then the monsters surrounded Nick's jet.

"Nick! I am not leaving without you!" Medora steered her craft towards Nick's jet.

Nick was touched and he looked at Medora and nodded.

Then a beam shot the monster.

"Belamis!!" Medora cried in joy.

Belamis was in her jet coming for them. She saw the monsters back in Starry Princess.

"Nick, get Medora out first!" Belamis said as she shot at the monsters on her jet.

Belamis stood out of the cockpit and drew her sword. Then Belamis leaped out and fought the monsters, severing one of the the monster's wing.

"Medora.... Nick loved you..... don't let him go like I almost did with Kugo....." Belamis said to her in telepathy....

"Belamis.... " Medora responded.

Nick steered his jet and stopped beside Medora, and held out his hands.

Medora grabbed Nick's hand, and jumped to her jet, and Nick held her tightly, and kissed her.

Then the monsters attacked their jet.

"No!!!" Belamis yelled, and she transformed to her giantess form, shielding them with her body. Her back took several blasts of the energy bursts from the monsters.

Nick and Medora looked at Belamis, and Belamis nodded.

"Go!!" Nick said, and he increased the thrust and steer the jet away.

"Medora, leave it to me ..." Belamis said to her in telepathy, "I am sure Nick is going to take good care of you..."

Medora had tears in her eyes.

Belamis then turned to the monsters and roared. The flying monsters fired energy bursts at Belamis.

Belamis dodged and fought back, charging one of it and hit its belly with her fists.

Then Belamis turned and kicked the others.

Then one monster charged Belamis and its beak poked Belamis body.

Belamis was wounded but undeterred Belamis fought back and threw it to other monsters. Then Belamis sent out her electromagnetic blast, killing one monster.

Nick said, "Medora, don't ever do this again!!" He kissed Medora.

Medora blushed.

"Let me get you to safety first!" Nick said, as he flew his jet away.

"What about Belamis ?" Medora said.

"I will join her...after you are away from the danger..." Nick said gently.

Nick flew the jet back to Starry Princess, and he let Medora boarded Starry Princess.

"Be careful!" Medora said to Nick.

Nick winked, and said, "Be back soon!" He flew his jet and joined Belamis.

Belamis had both her arms grabbed by the large beak of two flying monsters, and the other were spraying energy bursts at her.

"Big girl!! Here I am!!" Nick fired small rockets from his jets and hit the two monsters holding Belamis. Belamis was freed.

Belamis smiled and nodded, then she roared and exerted her muscles, dealing kicks and punches to the monsters, with Nick firing to cover her.

Soon the monsters were all destroyed. Belamis and Nick returned.

Belamis returned to human form, body wounded.

Medora hugged Belamis, and said, "I am...so sorry...."

"It's all OK..all is well!!" Belamis smiled.

Nick also landed and walked to Medora.

Medora hugged Nick then ran to Belamis, and cried, "I am so silly...."

"It's OK.... everything is fine now..." Belamis smiled, though she was injured all over.

Belamis: "Nick..."

"Yeah... pal " Nick replied.

"Take care of your girlfriend!" Belamis smiled.

"Sure, I will..." Nick smiled, as Medora walked to him and held his hand.

"But let us take care of you..." Medora said to Belamis.

Belamis smiled, and the three laughed.
