Chapter 2 The stranger

Kugo travelled space with Idina and the sensor for Belamis' signal was bleeping. At first few weeks, it was giving "bleeps" at 15 times a minute. Slowly it went up to about 18 times per minute.

Then at around 6 months later, it was bleeping even faster, at over 30 times a minute.

"We are closing in!!!" Exclaimed an excited Kugo. Idina smiled.

"Did you feel her ?" Kugo asked.

Idina nodded.

"Is she good ???" Kugo asked.

"Good...Belamis ..feel very good" Idina babbled and smiled.

"Oh...gorgeous..." Kugo kissed the little baby.

After 18 months, Kugo's craft arrived at a star system - so remote that it was off all the charts. The sensor was giving a long "beee" sound.

Kugo's heart was full of hope, but again he started to worry - what if he got another false positive ???

The signal on the sensor was strong, but giving that he had not seen Belamis yet, Kugo was getting more anxious.

"It has to be here... please....." Kugo said, as he landed his craft at a planet.

He exited, and saw a beautiful planet - covered with thick forest. Idina peeked out from the craft.

"Papa...I want to go....." Idina smiled and wanted to climb out... She was sick and tired of the small space in the craft.

"Stay there!!!" Kugo said.

"I'd take a look around... when the coast clear.. I will get you.." He yelled, and he walked around.

"This place is like a tropical forest..." He muttered, "What the hell is the place ??"

It was a vast forest, with no end apparent.

"A..hoi!!!" Kugo hailed.

His voice echoed throughout the forest.

"Who are you ??" A voice shouted.

Whisk...

An arrow flew pass Kugo's face and hit a tree.

"Wow..." Kugo gasped.

The person obviously was not excited at Kugo's presence.

Kugo looked to the direction, a person stood on a branch of a tree.

"Get out of this place...This is our tribe's land." The person commanded.

Kugo walked towards the person.

Another arrow landed in fornt of his feet.

"Get out!! Stranger!" The voice shouted. Its a voice of a youth.

Kugo got to see the person clearly. He was naked, body had paints all over, wearing a mask made of an animal skull.

The person carried a spear, a bow, a stack of arrows on a waist belt, and also a sword.

Kugo heard the voice was like a young kid, and laughed, "Hey kid... I have no time to mess with you!! Go find someone to play with you - I'm busy looking for someone..." Kugo replied.

"I am no kid!!" The person shouted, and leaped from the tree and landed in front of Kugo.

Kugo was impressed by the person's agility.

"Nice move!"

"Stop talking crap...get out now ...you invader!" The person said.

He put down the spear, the bow and the arrows, and drew his sword, and attacked.

"What are you doing ???? No..no..." Kugo protested.

"You dare to call me 'kid' ? I am teaching you a lesson!"

"I am not an invader..." Kugo said.

"Stranger... you dress so strangely... you are an outsider...." The person shouted, and welded the sword and chased Kugo.

Kugo realized in his cyborg armor, he might have startled the person.

"No..No...." Kugo just retreated.

"Fight me!!" The person commanded, "Pull out your weapon!"

Kugo thought, "That person will not give up without a fight..." Somehow it felt familiar.

"Gosh...why am I always ending up having a stranger pulling a fight with me...???"

Kugo pulled out his AstroLance, and said, "Very well!! Be careful!!"

The two engaged in a combat.

The person was very very agile, and the moves were graceful, quick, and the sword fighting skill was very good.

"This person is really something..." Thought Kugo.

The weapons clashed, but the person's move was not yeilding at all - in fact he moved towards Kugo.

"I don't have time for this kind of thing....... I have to find Belamis!!!......" Kugo thought.

Then the person grabbed a large leave and hurled it to Kugo.

"Wow..." Kugo dodged and it was a false move. The person leaped high and welded his sword at him.

Kugo raised his Astro Lance and blocked the attack -- only to find the person landed on the Astro Lance and walked on it, attacking Kugo!

Kugo raised the Astro Lance and shook the person off.

Kugo felt at the back of his head, the person's move had a uncanny familiarity, but could not describe it - and Kugo was too busy fighting to give further thoughts about it.

They kept on exchanging attacks, their weapons clashed.

The person said, "You are a formidable rival.. .I will have a dual with you!!"

"No duals...man!!" Kugo signed.

The attacks from the person quickened.

Kugo was finding it harder to block the attack.

"No way... I have to use Trizer Beam to stun that person or I will be stuck here the whole day... and I might not be able to locate Belamis...."

He raised the Astro Lance and yelled, "Trizer Beam!"

The Trizer Beam hit the person - then the person was at the other position in a flash!

"What ????" Kugo was shocked beyond belief. He had a thought, and then he sent out his clone.

His clone sneak behind the person and pretended to strike him.

The person turned, and hit the clone with his sword.

Kugo said, "Now!" He shot a Trizer Beam at the person's mask.

The mask dropped.

The person turned - behind the mask was a beauty - long black hair, fair skin, pink lips, sapphire eyes - it was the face of Belamis!
